! Modding CONTEST ! TTRs RageLion
We had a movie contest and a skinning contest, now here's the modding contest!
It's all about TTRs lately released RageLion, the .obj file included in its zip will make it easy to let your creativity play!
If you don't have the car already, get it from TSS
Rules:
-Take TTRs RageLion as a basis for whatever custom mod you want to make out of it. Only due is that it MUST still be obvious that it is a mod of the RageLion, don't come up with a Formula 1 racer!
-The Poly-limit is the one of Carma itsself, but please stay with durable amounts though, because people won't vote for your mod if it slows or brakes down their game!
-Complete re-skinning is allowed too, of course, along with changes in the .mat-file, but there MUST be changes in the shape, otherwise it only counts as a skin and not as a mod.
-Pics won't be enough in this case, a Monster Truck can look brilliant, but what does it count if it handles like a go-cart? That means: There must be a downloadable playable version available till the deadline. As mods are usually less than 2mb, finding hosts won't be a problem.
-Deadline is July 28th
-A vote will be posted on that date, which will run for another week, after which the results are final and the winner will be announced.
-Always remember to keep from braking copyrights! That's more important with mods then with any other stuff. If you're not sure of using a part/texture from another person, ask for permission first!
TTR and me are the hosts, and we participate aswell.
Now go and post here whether you're taking part, and then you can ask questions, post comments, or just show your WIP !

Funny, I had something like the pic you posted already in my mind, that means flame-job and a blower but rest will go rather street-machine-like, not with such big wheels.

The whole car is tilted forward, but the textures haven't yet - he's still using the textures from the original, so it'll look a little strange

i put the truck back to its original flat stance
to make it easyer to skin it, once i compile it
i'll change it in pt2, since it keeps its mapping

Yeah I'm still definitly going to add a blower, but I guess I drop the high-jacking and the flame paintjob I planned, as Halo already applied them on his mod.
And a lifted one with bigger wheels like the one from your picture has already been done by yourself, TTR . *thinks hard what else could fit to a blower...*
EDIT: My thinking just led me to the idea of doing a custom lowered truck ... that means big chromy wheels, (almost) no room under the car's bottom and some stylish changes like a phantom front etc. So to anyone else: Don't dare to do these things, those are my job now!

EDIT: I'm gonna try to do something neat with it of course i'm gonna have some help

EDIT #3: OK I moddified the OJB file as Halo told me to, but when i load the vehicle into PT@ it shows the unmodified version Anyone know what to do?

Apex: Heh - that's looking sweet. Shame you lost the spikes, they were my favourite bit - Also, I recommend saving 2 obj files every time you save. One as a backup - CarEd has a habit of losing awesome work :/
Carboy: You need to recompile the car to make new act/dat/whatever files. - this might involve renaming loads of the components, because TTR uses loads of duplicate names. *grumbles at TTR* - also, you have to have atleast one component with a texture on it before CarEd will compile.

LOL, the reaions why Carboy had his mod with out any textures is because....
1: he had the car's folder in the wrong directorty
2: he also imported the .dat file and saved it as an obj, thus ruining the Original ojb
i find it rather amusing how TTR had about 30 duplicate names and the car still works
and yes i know grouping duplicate named parts makes it so you can compile the car with the
duplicate names

Yeah, you're right, I just didn't expect that someone would come up THAT fast with it . But now I declared what my new idea is and I hope noone "steals" it this time .
But I'm partially happy with not having announced it earlier, cause then we wouldn't have such a great Halo:Wheelman-mod now . The flames are just Respect

I allready fixed it lol, i got it in game but i need to do a couple things yet, i'm thinking bout adding some lights on the rollbar,or removing the roll bar and putting a tenau (spelling?) cover, also i need to lift the truck slightly up i think, and texture the wheels

They are actually mine if I'm not totally wrong if I remember it right, they are either from my '68 Camaro skin or from my '71 Camaro.

"RLcabsr" And "RLcabsl" are the fenders, also... for some odd reasion unknown TTR made the front fenders AND the part behind the door as one

damn noobs.... what you do is you first select the fender that you want to have use the texture,
then what you do is you go to the texture box below the combonent box and select the FenderR texture and then click "Refresh" in the model window,
