The bonnet actor file seems to come from another car. Game can't load the expected model for the bonnet either as it hasn't been told (in the TXT file) to load the DAT file containing it.

GroovyFunkRefs 11,12,13,14 should be set to -1 as they are unused.

It's cool seeing how savy you've gotten with the Carma tools over time, Joker. Prop Car is mega dope. I'm a bit late on this, but wanted to mention that when I try to load your remodeled RedPol, it causes the game to crash on race start. I used to think it was the lack of 64x48x48 files, but some of your other cars load fine without those. Not sure what's up.

I tried to look into it (As far as i can) and the car works fine in both the Dos and Win95 (Carma VR) version.

I have no idea, sorry  .
Its the only vehicle that has a problem?

Yep, it's just RedPol. I thought it was going to happen to Prop Car too, but it ran fine. It was silent because I didn't take the extra step to implement its special engine sound, but that was expected and I didn't mind.

Had a quick test of both cars, cool stuff esp the whole animated flesh one.

However the second one is crashy straight from the car selection menu:
it tries to load DODE.FLI instead of DEDODE.FLI, I don't know how you missed that as it should make the DOS version crash too.
Also, your usual problem with groovyfunkrefs, you have to change the 11 12 13 14 gfrs to -1 as they are unused. You could just do a quick test on your own with Carma95 before the release to check if that crash happens...
Finally that new archive overwrites previous files with the same filenames:

It seems these five vehicles cause crashes at random moments:

Milch Semi
Oldy Space
Space Caddy
Matrix Truck
Motorcycle Chariot

The fli files in the menu become black voids and when Start race is selected the game almost immediately dies
Looked around but with the little bit of knowledge i have, i cannot figure out what is wrong with them though

:noob: :help: In case anyone wants to give it a look

Quick test in Carma95

MTXTRK.TXT & V740LKW.TXT : GFR 11 12 13 14 are declared but not used (replace those with -1)

OLSPCE.TXT, BEARD.TXT & CASPCE.TXT work..? If you encountered crashes while testing these with Carma95, try with sound off ?

Will test all your stuff properly once I get a moment :)

LEDOR
ODI_T
REINDE
VOLMIX
GRIZLR
V740LKW
BEARD
CASPCE
F7200

I have uploaded an altered archive that only contains the working vehicles for now :supermad:

Get ready for the toshiba feedback

First I must commend you for delivering this many addon cars at once and they are all in a perfectly working state! (besides the couple missing MUG files which only makes the game crash if they're loaded as opponents). Also it's very clear how much you keep on improving. Very nice. Keep it up etc.

My 2 cents:

Some car gallery images are a bit difficult to discern (ex: ROLTRK or BLWCMP) and some have the wrong black as background (slightly too light (ex. TRNSDN), used to happen to me all the time too).
Custom font you're using is a nice personal touch IMO.

SDM2: Car gallery FLI file doesn't seem to match the (very) long truck.
FIRBOT: you include FIRMUG.FLI in the archive but the OPPONENT.TXT text chunk tries to load TANMUG.FLI (which isn't included in any of the recent releases). Just a matter of fixing the text chunk.
BLWCMP: same as above.
MILTRK and a few others: I think the texture you use on some of the very long parts behind the cab is really a bit too small. I'd find it reasonable to at least double its size. Another bit of advice is for you to try and use as many 64x64 and 256x256 textures to enable perspective correction (the game can only correct those) - UNLESS you're actually after the texture wobbling! As you're a PS1-era fan, that might be the case?

DMNCAR: looks cool
LEDOR: funny
As a whole it's great to see you animate more textures and parts, gives more life to your concepts/ideas.
PSYTRK: clearly one of the most interesting idea. There's a whole game concept right there! Very inspiring. Personaly I would have animated the 'horror' part even more, with wobbling tentacles and victim car etc. Fantastic stuff, hope you explore the idea further.
DRATAX: funny too with the sad eyes. Maybe more to develop with that idea?
HVRTHN: again a very cool idea. I think the rear propeller should turn in the other direction though? I know it's not easy to achieve for you considering your workflow with CarEd as it involves thinkering with the actor transform. But it can be achieved in CarEd with a bit of hackery. Would have been nice if the side texture of the hover mat thing wasn't stretched/had the same density as the front part :)
ADM2: sleek viking design.
GOLIATH: very good.

Another thing that crossed my mind is that you could come up with a very simple 'empty' cockpit view -like I did for some of my addons- no cockpit images, no bonnet model in view, and the camera set as a bumper cam. And then you'd just copy that setup for all your files. Checkout my Deathcruiser port for the no-bonnet-model and IIRC ones like the Skeleton Biker and Alone in the Dark car for no cockpit. It's quite easy to do and I can help you.
Actually you could do the same for the grid icon and damage mask, I mean having generic ones that you'd use for all your car (kinda like you see to have your trademark with that fraktur font in the car gallery images lately). It'd be a one-time effort and then be better than using the default Eagle images. The Deathcruiser features one such generic damage mask that you can use/modify if you want.

I really think it'd be 127% better for you and the people installing your mods if you could release and update your cars as individual zips/rars. This time you released/updated 16 cars in a very short time and released them as like three packs. It's not clear what we get when we install these ; if there's an issue with a file, it's difficult to track down ; it's difficult for you to update cars featured in previous packs like this. For someone like myself, it took me like two weeks to find a bit of time to properly test your 16 cars..!
Would be nice if you could maintain a simple page with a picture and a download link for each one of your creation and you'd just have to update that one file every time you update it. (Like RR2000 basically)

I'm posting many screenshots afterward to show the cars with their respective filenames. :investigate:

Custom font you're using is a nice personal touch IMO.
I would not know an easier way to Discern them to be honest. If i remember correctly, if there are more than Six letters in a File name, the game starts acting weird or just crashing.
It seems i did create and replace the placeholders with the correct FLI files, but forgot to include them in the uploaded archives, sorry  :help: .
I'll try to fix it as soon as possible.

Also if i remember correctly, the font was Posted on Discord by Jorma  (Forget the Actual name of the Font though)

I really do enjoy the Wobbling for this reason yes  .
But i found larger Textures which i'll use from now on.

PSYTRK: I wish i knew how to animate this stuff, Probaply not possible with CarEd?
DRATAX: Aside of Animating the Tears, i don't really have any other ideas
HVRTHN: Tried animating the Fan, guess i made a mistake. Side texture will be fixed

If its no problem i would like to know how to do this, thanks in advance
Also tried the No Bonnet thing before and it made the game crash upon entering a race.
So probaply something i am not aware of.

Thought it was easier to just use the Eagle grid image, honestly that is all. What exactly is a Damage Mask though?

If i remember correctly you said something about a Layout with seperate archives like RR2000 sometime ago, but i forgot to ask about it
Would not know how such a layout would work or how it would be set up though
