Yeah thats just speculation on eurogamer's part due to Stainless' previous success on XBLA. No platforms have been announced and the fact they're looking for a partner suggests it could well be a retail release, not a purely downloadable one.

Agreed with Tony. I'm a bit surprised that so many people are interested that the site was <s>broken</s> ran over.

Also, my counter is messed up. 1 hour, 10 minutes, and a scrambled seconds counter.

Does the counter started again for u too? Here shows that we have to wait a day, a minute and 78 seconds!! and the seconds are counting crazy!

well the timer screwed up and the link on stainlesses website is just back to the countdown clock which now reveals 1hour 10minutes and 81 seconds and the timer is dodgy as in coppied itself over the origional timer....

The good news is the game's announced, Stainless own it fully and sound just as excited about it as we all are. There definitely seems a lot of interest in it around the net, more than I was expecting. Just shows that Carmageddon is a classic, unforgettable franchise!

@Hazardic: Something did happen. Check gaming news sites, the press release has gone out to them and the news was posted when the timer ended at 10am, just the Carmageddon website is being buggered by the sheer amount of people trying to get a look in. Simone is going to kick the IT guy in the head until he gets it sorted

yep i know about news - but i expected something like opening flash with sketches, concepts, maybe developers videos or smth. so the main idea of this countdown is a fail because it did't its main purpose - to advertise upcoming project

I saw that enter yir birthday too, and there was a image behind it of two cars and a road. But when I put my birthday the counter started all over again

(Or as a simple fix, it had cached carmageddon.com for me, so I went to www.carmageddon.com and that worked fine)
