C2 running in windowed mode on Windows 10.

Hello to this forum users.
Wanted to ask few questions about running Carmageddon 2 in windowed mode.
Running in full screen with higher resolution is fine, but windowed will more crisp and easier to handle (alt+tab and etc.)

I found out that running in window is complicated. Firstly I tried to use DxWnd, but no luck there.
Later I found out this screenshot - images/imgur-bckp/4yiwrZH.jpg From this topic - viewtopic.php?t=9471#p104424

Sounds easy, but problem appeared on second step.
On dgVoodoo start, process starts and nothing happens, settings dialog does not appear. Any ideas?
Same behavior is presented on dgVoodoo2.41 and dgVoodoo2.54.1.

Found out this - http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/ReadmeDirectX.html (Number 9 - Why doesn't dgVoodoo DX emulation start up?)
Checked both variants. (No luck)
1) I don't have DDraw.dll mentioned in KnownDLLs folder, in REGEDIT.
2) Tried to change System32's DDraw.dll with Dege's.

Also I found that here - http://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/ ... patibility there is some kind of patch for this game.

My environment.
SYSTEM:
OS: Windows 10, v1607, x64
GPU: Nvidia GTX660 running 2 or 3 monitors.

GAME:
GOG - setup_carmageddon2_2.0.0.26.exe

UPD.
Somehow ALT+ENTER works, and game switches from fullscreen to windowed, but still no ALT+TAB and window movement is possible.

UPD2.
After putting psVoodoo nglide file into games folder, now 3Dfx logo started to appear on the bottom right corner.
And now when game is in windowed you can move mouse cursor outside the window border. Plus if cursor is close to border, window resize can be triggered.

Hello,

From your post it does really seem like the problem lies with dgVoodoo and that you'd have more luck posting your issue on VOGONS in the dgVoodoo subforum:
https://www.vogons.org/viewforum.php?f=59

You should try to run Carma2_HW.exe with the -D3D argument via DxWnd. It's quite easy.

Though it seems by reading your UPD2 that you got what you want with psVoodoo? I'm surprised it lets you run C2 in windowed mode TBH. Here it doesn't even work properly anymore.

BTW if you want to patch your game; either use the superpatch v2 or superpatch v3 from here: https://rr2000.cwaboard.co.uk/pc-files#c2
Just backup your files if you already added mods to your game.

Interesting, don't know why, but after I installed v3 patch, once again I tried to start dgVoodooCpl and it works.

And what I found if game is started with -d3d parameter, it just crashes. Seems like I will stick to glide.
