Competition Ideas

Hey,

I've always thought it would be cool if developers had competitions, and the winner had some kind of contibution into the game if they won, like :

- A character based on them

- Contributes sounds/voices for the game

- Gets to have a vehicle of their choosing included in the game.

What do you think?

Well, in the blog about Screwie´s return they mentioned the following at the bottom:

"We’ll also be running a competition at a later date, to design a new character (and their car)… And the winning design will be included in the game."

So they do have plans on adding atleast one character/car based on players suggestion.

I actually wanted a competition about a race, maybe it can just be organised by the community.

Like a checkpoints stampede, obviously everyone has to use the same car and same track, but I'm sure it'll be fun, even with the amount of people who changed settings to their favor :P

I have an nice idea after the "Prat Cam" Competition:

A Carmageddon photo-contest

Make the nicest Carmageddon-look-a-like photo, so the designers could use the picture for Marketing or something else.

(ofcourse with al the safety rules if you would put spikes on your car etc.).

Since the replay feature is so timeless and awesome, and played such a huge role in my enjoyment of the series, I think they should mould a contest around that somehow. Like, the greatest kill combo you ever got, or the most insane crash/tumble, something to that effect. Then just have users upload said replays!

Now, I know not everyone is going to have a slew of saved replays from Carma 1 & 2, but hey, here's an opportunity to make a whole buncha new ones and start playing through those perennially classic masterpieces!

give us a sample pack (sounds like we had with the first games)

scream1,sheep,acid bath,engine1,go,1,2,3,4,5,etc...

we'll make midi-grind, breakcore, acid, splittercore, noize, hardcore, etc...with it!

I always like the thought of design contests or other ways for you or your ideas to appear in the game.

Also physical goodies always do the trick, wacky but practical things are nice.

How about a contest to come up with commercial taglines for the release of Carmageddon Reincarnation. That could be fun.

Doing stupid or unusual stuff.

Think, Jimmy Hendricks: Behind the head/back keyboard playing carma.

Or: Playing carma with your cat/dog/pets feet.

Or: Playing carma with your own feet.

Or: Playing carma on your friends computer, and if you get wasted, smash his computer to pieces.

:D

The possibilities are endless.

A video of you (or whoever) as one of the carma characters.

What got you into driving the Carmageddon circuit?

What are you doing now that you retired from racing?

A day in the life of Max/Vlad/louie/whoever.

What are you driving now (lol, that would be hilarious).

How about a competition based on suggestions for parody warning labels? I've got a good few ideas for 'Unsuitable for' and 'This game contains', and I'm sure that the caring, loving and granny-respecting people on this forum have a few as well.

I would like to see fans create their own little (or big, why limit yourself..?) model of the Eagle..!

It could be made of anything, I made one out of LEGO's more than a decade ago, and Stainless made one out of a freaking cake..! Who's to say you can't make one out of paper, clay, tin foil, molten silverware or folded towels, the list goes on, as long it's the Eagle..!

I would really like to see the community going wild with creative creations*

(*that had a nice ring to it, didn't it..?)

Ohh please make it happen, maybe we'll even see more variations of Eagle cakes..?! (Eagle... cupcakes..?)

Bonus points if you manage to create pedestrians in an appropriate scene along with it :D

I think creating characters would be awesome. Submit a snapshot of your invention to go into the draw. Maybe have it based on votes or something. I just ran a photo submission contest for one of the places I work for using Votigo, a Facebook based platform. It's great at drumming up the masses. We had 168 submissions!

A crazy idea:

Let people send in 3 self made photos and/or photoshops that can function as a menu background

Carmageddon related ofcourse :)

Or an photo from their own carcockpit and then shopped/edited in Carma-style.

Maybe I just like doing photos because I do photography as a hobby!

How about a competition to add new bonus statements to the game? The ones like SPLATTER BONUS! or CUNNING STUNT BONUS! type thing.

Easy to enter and very cool to contribute to the game from a fan point of view if you win, and probably easy to add to the game without a buttload of work :)
