Charter: Rules and Guidelines.

Given the amount of shit that's gone on here over the past couple of weeks, I think a rules thread will need to be made:



General Posting Guidelines / Use of the search function:

- Please navigate around the forums before starting a new thread. Use the search function if you think something may have been posted before.

Before you post a thread, consider the following:

* Is what I'm about to post relevant, coherent, funny or in any way interesting to other people?

* Does it add to the forum or is it another thread which is taking up space?

* Has it been posted before?

* Is it suitable for this forum?

Your threads and posts should be well thought out and coherent. This isn't MSN Messenger, there is no need for text / leet speak. If in doubt, use a spell checker before you post. Meaningful threads add to the community, throw away threads like "What is your favourite colour?" accomplish nothing. Always try to stay on-topic and contribute to a thread.

Flaming:

- Anyone who persists in flaming will initially be banned for a week. If they continue to do it afterwards, they will be banned indefinitely.

Pointless Threads and Polls:

- Posting any pointless thread or poll will result in the thread being locked. You can be banned for this. Think before you post. If you don't have anything constructive to say, then don't bother posting a new thread.

Digging up old threads:

- Please don't dig up thread that are over a year old. Their is absolutely no need for it. They will be locked, and the poster will be warned.

Text Speak / Use of improper grammar:

- Use of text speak is prohibited. Enough said.

Advertising:

- Topics/posts that contain this will be both edited and locked. The poster will be banned for a week.

ALWAYS READ THE CHARTER!:

- The charter contains all the rules and guidelines. The charter may be updated at any time. Make sure you are up to date.

This is a requirement, and ignorance is not an excuse.
