Why do they call it "suicide doors" anyway? Scissor doors and wing doors are logical, but how is opening a door backwards suicidal?

which only applys to sedans where the front door is a regular door and the rear door opens the other way.

personally i dont think that makes any sence, the word Suicide wouldnt be in the

name of the door if all that would happen was the door would brake off.

the same happens if you back up with the door open, it would brake off

or if your stepping out of your car on the side of the road and you go to open your

door and *WACK* off goes your door....

what would happen if your doing 60 and open the door? if your holding onto the door

your going to get sucked the fuck out of the ride and probbly kill your self

so thus, "Suicide Doors"

to be honest, I wouldnt call it a suicide door then. I'd call it a horrible disfigurement, and possible death door.

It's not that dumb, really. It actually Can make sence. If you sacrifice the door - which will be a bit suicide similar. There's no return when you pump up the door, as in really kill yourself - Suicide. It will bust out and if you have your hands on it, it can end very sad. Suicide doors.

Probably it just comes from a few sad accidents. As it can be your final moment, if door is opened at the wrong time and place. Or something.
