9/11 Memorial Ride/Car and Bike Show pics
Yesterday, 600 or so of us scooter people gathered at Danbury Harley-Davidson and rode to Ground Zero and back in memory of those who lost their lives in the U.S. terrorist attacks.
It's an annual event here. It's followed by a pretty cool car and bike show and a solemn sunset ceremony.
Gots lotsa pics which I'll slowly post up here. Couldn't get pics of the ride 'cause I didn't have any time to stop-they ran a pretty tight schedule what with the police escorts and stuff, but I got some pics of the show in New Milford.
To start with-Here's Jimmy Heywood's 9/11 public safety memorial bike:
It has painted on it all the names of the police, firefighters and public safety personnel who were lost when the WTC towers fell.
Nice gesture, eh? This guy devoted his whole bike to them...
I'll slowly post up pics from the show as I get a chance to today...Stay tuned.

He's the original biker guy! And the only one here hardcore enough to look "authentic"!
Re: 9/11 Memorial Ride/Car and Bike Show pics
Yayus. I'd surely be in some mighty deep shit. Good thing I know how to park a bike, eh?
There was easily a million bucks worth of just bikes there. Lots hand-built ones. Those particularly impress me. Anybody can buy one-to fabricate one is truly art.
Here's a couple more pics:
This guy came rumbling in on a "Black Dog" type chopper... I said "just stand there an' look proud.."

Then after my bike winning a trophy (Best of show-Detail), and my wife's bike winning a trophy (Hey, her kid's in Iraq and the promoter's a former Marine-her bike has "Marine Mom" pinstriped on the rear fender.) We (and about 60 other folks on all kindsa bikes rambled on down to the local Dunkin' Donuts and kinda took the place over for awhile.
I got one last pic before the cam's batteries died:
