Die-Hatsu Cuore 850 tg

Post by Harmalarm »

Hallo daar!

I started work on a low poly model of this little shitty car; my own Daihatsu Cuore. It weighs 640 kg and cannot exceed 130 km/h. Polycount as shown 858. Appropriately named Die -hatsu off course... I could have also named it Daiha-ha-ha-hachooooo by the way....

It's no conversion ladies and gentlemen! No, this one has been scratch made. I suppose Coffey is jumping in the air right now?

Image

not really finished yet, and I intend to give it myself as driver model, so stay tuned!!!

I have added the driver model and re-did some of the texture edges. Still a bit too clean in my opinion, so I'll put some rust and dirt on it.

Hey, this is cool shit. Yeah, I am jumping up and down!

Even the new driver is cool. Mebbe I am not a fan of octagonal wheels like Tosh.

I just see rolling Stop signs. 12 or 10 sided looks better to me. Minor point tho.

Imagine real world cars had such wheels lol.

I'd would've liked to see 10/12 too.

But it would solve the problem of falling asleep behind the wheel. Great model Harm friend of mine here in Hungary has got one of those, he calls it the Lawnmower, he says because it sounds like one!! all I know is with four people in it cyclist are usually overtaking it.

I've driven on a couple of roads where 10 sided wheels would have smoothed them out.
If it runs, drives, stops, has a title, AND is under $300, I'll take it!

thanx for the comments guys. Actually I agree with the lot of you, those 8 sided wheels tend to draw attention to themselves. In fact, I allready has a couple of 12 sided wheels ready, but I accidentally deleted them  Silly me... not a big deal though, I will re-do them.

oh, and a little bit of thickness on those rear lights is not a bad idea... I'll see to it Sir!

@ Tosh; sorry bro, no 8 sided wheels for me this time... I could offcourse make a special Toshiba-eight-sided-wheels version.

The car is coming along nicely. I still have to do its physics editing and the shell model. I also don't have a rotating head and steering wheel yet, but I'm not sure I will do that now. I am considering using smash able textures for all parts, in order to make the body look even better after crashing. I remember this yellow car a long time ago, which had all smash able textures over its body. Does anyone know what car I mean, because I can't seem to find it back.

But I also have a problem with my smash able textures. On the main body I have 6 of them, 4 lights and 2 window textures that should smash. All of them are not smashing at all, even after optimizing the model. And I am out of ideas how to fix that. My other windows on the flaps do their smashing part fine. Does anyone know what might cause this problem with the main body textures?

Yeah I know, 'yellow car' is not that enough information. Well, It was like a trabant-like vehicle. Boxy shaped, coupe, with a trunk. I can't really tell you anything more though, that's about it. But I remember it was great fun to trash it, because of it's texturing.

Hi, Now Iam getting old, but I remember Adr's Porsche boxster had smashable textures for the body. If Iam wrong I have a good excuse (old age). Bye for now.

The 'yellow' car was a fiat, I think a 128 model and I cant remember whom made it, but the dented body textures didnt look all that realistic, that being said unless you're quite an artist and you can arrange the mesh so it bends where the dents in the texture would be I wouldnt really waste your time with all that.

Yes, that sound like the one I am looking for. Perhaps my memory is fooling me, and it doesn't look that good after all. I will have to see when I find it again.

Yeah, It's done!

Image

I have added a simple model, a shell, and got the smash ables working after all. I didn't do a rotating head and steering wheel. I did however replaced the wheels by 12 sided ones.

As for the low poly modelling I might have failed at some points (wheels/trunk detail) But still, what you see is as optimum as I could make it.

The car weighs 1172 poly's. Still pritty good eh?

as for your comments tosh, you can allways shoot me. I can tell the difference between an asshole and someone who gives contributing feedback

I will fix these things tomorrow. I also didn't do the fire points, now that I think of it... I'm such a hasty son of a bitch...

Updated the model.

1.The car should now use the same material for the shell as the real model

2.folder renamed

3.hood changed to a non-actor. Now behaving as a flap should be I suppose.

4.rear lights changed.

what other things could be improved?

I will now work on the textures, because they don't satisfy me that much...

same download location btw; https://harm.cwaboard.co.uk/

I decided to do a re-model of this bitch. This time, more realism, more detail and more poly's. I'm about to texture the thing.

The physics part of the car will probably take up most of my time, since I want it to be perfect. Playing with the damage impact settings and so on. Fun stuff.
