The Gaming section of my personal web site.

Includes a few vehicles and a couple skins(currently just C2) for download, along with a bunch of Carmageddon links.

As for whether it's good or not, that's up to the visitors.

Links to other Carmageddon sites.

Post by Takeshi666 »

I have noticed that often, it is almost impossible to find anything specific among all the carmageddon sites out there. Most of the times, I wander on such websites almost by accident. There is also the fact that some site's URLs change as time passes, so I figured that a thread like this would be useful.

So, the point is, list Carmageddon-related websites with downloadables here, along with a brief description of the contents. Is it centered around C1, C2 or TDR, skins, add-on cars or tracks? Is it in english? What are the highlights of the page? (Some sites don't really even need a description, such as Econobrick's site)

And of course, is the site actually any GOOD?

This:

Should be: http://thesprayshop.net -the Spray Shop, very nice site also

You were directing to a cars page and not the site itself

Nonetheless, JP has cool cars so you better wanna see his project too: http://thesprayshop.net/jp/Ruin/

Which is a bit buried and hard to find a link for, it has Apoc cars

This thread could also serve as a bulletin when a website releases new content, so there is no need to surf throguh the hundreds of them every day to see if there is anything new.

Whole lot of cars on this one: http://flagellomane.altervista.org/inde ... eddon.html

(Tosh has a link to main site there)

About 80% is still working, several car packs for TDR (and one for II, which is working)

I've been looking through every link to link to link for the last 12 hours, and damn so many sites are dead or have dead downloads, makes me cry.

Possible important update

Post by Lumberjack »

Hi all,

Good to see that some of the names I remember are still running around here. A nod to everyone, hope you are all good.

Just an update on The Spray Shop, which as you probably have noticed has been very dead for the past few years. Well the renewal on the domain name is up, and this time I think its time to let it slide. So a word of warning that you have until Feb 8th to download any files you want from the site, which at the moment is still running. After this the files will be gone, and I'm not even sure I have backups of them any more.

If anyone wants to host the files somewhere else, that could well be a good idea. Do what you like with any of my own personal creations, including modding them or whatever else you might like. As for all the others, our standard code is to get the author's permission to host them, but for the sake of preserving things I think that it should be ok to allow other sites to host them under the name of thesprayshop.net.

So please anyone who can, go and download all the cars, skins etc and put them up somewhere else on the internet! I will set this thread to send replies to my email for a while, so post any queries back here.

Thanks all and I wish you all a great Carmageddon.

Sorry to see TSS go, but I totally understand. I'll be sure to grab some of those great tutorials and browse through the cars again before they're gone.

I've sent Lumberjack a message offering to host TSS, I'd buy the www.thesprayshop.net domain to keep it open if Lumberjack allows this, purely for archival purposes.

Re: Possible important update

Post by Lumberjack »

Guys, very touched by your PMs. I've had a bit of a change of heart. I had a little browse through some of the amazing developments that guys like C2 Scientist have been making in the map-making field, and I am very impressed by all of that. And then I got bit by the nostalgic bug and decided I couldn't let the site go under. I'm going to make a big effort to get it back to an active and running state!

So don't worry for now about downloading all the files. I've got into the ftp and I'm backing them up anyway. But it turns out that my message is a little premature, as the domain is actually still active until some time in June, when I will be extending it for another few years.

Very nice offer for the hosting. I think the site takes up around 500mb. I also think that we might be alright where we are at telefragged/atomicgamer. The only problem is that TSS currently uses a perl-based content management system, and our host has stopped supporting perl (which is why there have been no updates for quite a long time). I am thinking quite strongly about switching to a php-based cms instead. It will be quite a lot of work to get all the content back into the cms but I think in the long run its probably worthwhile.

I plan on working in a user registration business so all of you can register and hopefully upload/publish files.

In the meantime I'd love to get a brief on who is active in this community and what sites are getting updates these days. Maybe in a new thread...

Thanks all, and I hope to be back in business soon

I have also Created a forum C2 Insanity

It has everything Image and Video hosting, also with the videos you don't have to worry about losing audio, like they do on youtube.

Mmhz, i'm not going to promise that I'm going to do things for Carmageddon2 again (I have promised before) but it might be. My site is hopelessly unfinished and old, but it's still working and everything is still available (downloads and tutorials). If not, please contact me.

My site is a bit hard to find in Google because for a long time there was a 'no index' in robots.txt.

Everything is now on http://carma.savage-elve.net]carma.savage-elve.net

Just a quick FYI, I noticed on Tosh's blog that his link to my site still links to http://stomping-on-kittens.co.nr which in itself links to https://razor.cwaboard.co.uk so it doesn't work, so if any of you have linked my site anywhere then please update the link to http://r.carmajunkies.com
