Carma Vs Pacman (random_monkey mix)

Post by random_monkey »

Surely not, a game crossover?! - ok, but only mapwise, not musicwise!

Check it:

Coming to a cinema near you!... maybe.

I need to scale it down a little, and the sky needs texturing somewhat better - perhaps starry?

Ha! That looks cool!

If your can, are you ganna have the ghosts(and possibly Pacman) wandering around?

Maybe scatter a bunch of those dots around and have them as some sort of bonus, such as a credit bonus?

Ok, I shall continue with this map a little, try and get some proper paths and peds in.

I was thinking of putting powerups on the super-blobs on the map.

In the meantime, has anyone got any ideas for other game crossovers that would make interesting maps?

yes, he's just lazy and won't fix it

And no, no jumps

Oh. Anyone got any inventive ideas as to what can happen at the bits at the side? - in the original they're open and you wrap around from one side of the screen to the other. Can't really do that in carmageddon. :/

Eruh....just.... close 'em? (I mean redesign the parts of the track near where they're supposed to be and close 'em...) Or put up those big wooden (or whatever) barriers like C1 had at the ends of some streets that went nowhere...(between buildings and stuff at the edge of a map...).

What about making an underground tunnel with those thing? So it could do like the "real" Pacman...

how about a remake of one of the original c2 maps? Like maybe a remake of max's junkyard so it actually looked like a junk yard...

i dunnoo

as for the bits at the sides of the pack man screen, Maybe make it so you drop down a little bit then there is a straight tunnel to the otherside and a ramp to get out? or maybe make a "spike pit 'o' doom"

Yeah....I like Soup's idea better. Tunnels to the other side like the real Pac-Man field.

Sez the monkey:

"I need to scale it down a little, and the sky needs texturing somewhat better - perhaps starry?"

There's a thought. But what about the dark insides of an old-time arcade game machine....y'know, circuit boards towards the back of the track and the back of a speaker or two, and in the center of it all-on the proper angle from the ground-somebody looking thru a properly warped "screen" (Like what the GAME could see if it could look out at you!) on the front of the track's sky.

I created an effect like this once by building a box around an entire track (Top & sides only).

If yer interested I'd be willing to submit some texture samples or even completed tex's.

Interesting!

I'd never thought of modelling the sky...

I shall see what I can rustle up (For the time being, this is on hold due to uni work)

Also, getting back to the other game ideas, I was thinking "Hang 'em High" off Halo would make a good map - lots of ramps, blocks, freespace and such (Of course, scaled way up for mini cars)
