Solar Flare [Psycho/TechArena]

Yes, Alex, the fake celshading trick, the full lit trick, and some complex grooves.

Oh, and yes FF has such feature, though I never tried it ?!

New id Software game : RAGE
(...) The result was Rage, based on the team’s love for the “post-apocalyptic, road warrior, Fallout genre.” Racing and car action figure prominently, as does running over people. And it's all set in the post-apocalyptic Arizona southwest. (...)
Re: Grunge Buster - Mech Maniac returns

HI Tarquin, About your wheels being two components : you'll be able to merge them together in PT2, or simply put one in the hierarchy of the other one. The wheel will react correctly ingame as whole. Please note that when you load a model from CarEd in PT2, make modifications then save, you'd better...

Re: Grunge Buster - Mech Maniac returns

Hi Tarquin, It's a very good work so far I think, though you could have tried to have more details, but yeah it's somewhat hard in CarEd for the first times. In my opinion, the wheels are a bit too large, even if I guess it's part of your new design. Are you using the original C1 textures or do you ...

Solar Flare [Psycho/TechArena]

<t>@ Coffey : Pay attention to the fact that if you preprocess the track, you'll have to reassign the numbers to the powerups and noncars in the GROOVE section, else the game will crash. If you want to do a lot of testing, just remove the grooves till you're done.<br/> <br/> @ Econo : I haven't used...

http://membres.lycos.fr/rreaction10/psychoarena.jpg Ok, well I did a quick finish. I changed and setup the sky, placed the powerups, changed some materials, and tweaked things here and there. The track isn't preprocessed though so you can modify it the way you want. Now I can go on the different an...

Solar Flare [Psycho/TechArena]

http://membres.lycos.fr/rreaction10/techarenabeta.jpg Hi, No, not a release yet. Just some informations so far. The TechArena project was just a kind of test to see how far I could handle smoothing groups, giant polygons, materials settings, the full lit trick and the funks. Though I had in mind to...

Re: Map's Fog and draw distance

I was actually thinking about the settings like the shaders. Also, C2 is directly influenced by your config ! The more powerful your rig is, the better C2 will run. So in example, if you hadn't SLI and a dual-core, C2 would run worse. And don't worry about the resolution, it is not related to the fo...

Re: Cops in Carmageddon II

Here, the game doesn't crash when the number of laps gets into minus  , but you're maybe right about the race type, should test that. Actually Carma2 is a very unfinished game, the missing car DIGGA is the most visible hint of that hasty release. The fault isn't ofcourse Stainless' but the publ...

Re: Carma 1 COP (APC)

Unfortunately, PT2 is a necessary step to achieve fully featured add-on cars  It's indeed an unstable program and can be tricky at times but the level of finish of your models will be way higher than those going only through poor old CarEd. PT2 allows you to keep and change smoothing groups (or...

Re: Cops in Carmageddon II

In C2 you can have up to 29 opponents (like in this shot : big grid )but you have to force the cops appearances via the 'explicit opponents' entry in the RACES.TXT file. They'll count in the total number of opponents as well. They'll use the network start points to be spawned I think so there must b...

Re: Map's Fog and draw distance

I had the very same problem, so much fog you can see shit 10 meters in front of you. Can't remember how I fixed this though... I think it might be related to the glidewrapper settings, but not sure at all~ edit : Oh and also I've read on CWA that you want to get rid of the fog in order to increase t...

Turbocharged Skyline DR30 RS

I forgot to add that it has a ~7750 tris polycount, driver included. So I prepared the detachables, fixed smoothing groups and uvw map to get C2 to render it correctly, made the engine compartiment, trunk, and interior using some prefabs. I ofcourse had to remake some textures, especially the lights...

So it's a full C2 features release this time, quite a good model if you ask me. See the power of smoothing groups ! The driver ...

Hey Harm, have you posted this project on a GTA dedicated forum ?
'Cause I feel like it might take some time to get feedback from this forum :heh:

So if you have, coud you post the link here so that we can read the feedback as well ?
Else, well, I recommend you do~
