[REL][Car] C1 Cars - Update: The Big Stability Update!
Awesome work, Trent. I was playing around with the latest car pack and it's a delight seeing both the old and new versions of the same cars going up against each other ingame. And it's being done with stitched together tools, long before the official SDK release. You don't see this stuff anymore.<br...

It's a standalone map inside its own section of the track list.

Oh yes, the original textures are much better. It no longer feels like someone wiped the whole game with a turpentine soaked rag. Amazing work.

Classic Textures - Pixelated or Filtered?
Definitely the original pixelated textures. Something is always lost after filters are applied and it changes the whole atmosphere of the game. Carmageddon was very similar to Quake like that.

[Environment] TDR2000 tracks: Hollowood, Necropolis, The Bridge
Hollowood and The Bridge are scaled up a bit too much. Maybe 30-50%? The loop and several jumps are impossible. It could be a combination of C:R having a different gravity. I don't have TDR2000 installed at the moment so I can't tell you exactly. Also, I'm getting certain bits of Hollowood failing t...

Incredible. I just completed a match where Vlad was an opponent. He's designed for this map in a way C2 never really utilized. I'm so pleased to see the old and new merging together. Anybody doubting the future of this game should have their worries washed away. You made my day, Errol.

Ha, I like it. That reminds me they should perhaps expand on the "android stole a race car" bio into something a little more detailed and fitting.FatCat wrote:What if ED 101 is just a hollow shell, the real driver being the Tashita.

New Eagle doesn't looks like concept art and is less appealing
Kind of a stupid topic since anybody with common sense would realize the final version of something, especially a car, never looks exactly like a 2-D conceptual painting.

Weather sounds like a whole new bag of optimization problems. However, adding night-time versions of the same maps for different races can be great.

Where should Electric Blue's Coils be? [Poll]
Get rid of the coils altogether and focus on a better skin for the body. Maybe play around with implementing an animated texture where bolts of electricity crawl over its entire length from front to back.

motorcycle! super fast easy to waste, but can strike opponents like a sniper bullet
I never really thought of a motorcycle as a viable weapon in Carmageddon. It might work as a stretched out drag style V8 super bike with armor plating and a wedge in the front. Then you'd pretty much have a smaller 2 wheeled version of Vlad's Annihilator.

I remember Test Drive Offroad: Wide Open for Xbox had a huge free roaming Moon level. The low gravity allowed somersaulting a few miles across giant craters and crashing into whatever was on the other side. When the mod tools are released it would probably be the easiest map you can make in 3dsmax o...

I'd expect some serious optimization between now and whenever they add multiplayer (nobby said before E3). Otherwise I don't see how good testing data will be if only a minority of people have a consistently smooth and playable framerate. With a beast of a machine it runs ok in singleplayer now. I'm...

If they can't do a cockpit view with at least as much detail and functionality as the original then don't half ass it instead. Letting us put the camera in several preset points on or around the car seems like an easier and quicker solution without having to waste resources. If there's time later I'...

It definitely should. I have the same GPU and it runs smoothly at 1920x1080 with everything on high. The only thing you have to worry about is bad luck and how well Stainless optimizes the game before they consider it done.

grimey and gritty carma1 or bright cartooney carma2?
I always preferred the imaginative design of Carma1/SP over the real world look that dominated Carma2. It wasn't so much gritty vs. cartoonish but what game had environments I found more interesting and fun to explore and crazy looking vehicles to drive. Carma2's design, whether you want to call it ...

Everyone would enjoy that, however it's not gonna happen. Wait for the mod tools and we can do it ourselves. There's some things even I don't love such as the new Eagle model being too far from the original design. But you know what they say about how opinions are like assholes?

How long does it take for your rig to load first race ( Oil be blowed ) ?
I double my RAM to 16GB last week and installed a GTX 770 (4GB VRAM) the previous week and the load times do not appear to have changed (although everything runs smoothly maxed out at 1920x1080). Oil Be Blowed takes about 30 seconds to a minute while the two larger maps take at least a full minute. ...
