well yes that's better but if you have a 64 bit OS you need to use vmware (or dual boot, which is more hassle than vmware)

Hello all! Well it's been 5 years since I posted the last guide :P, I recently felt like playing C1 again! The problem: C1 will not run natively on any 64bit version of windows. You can try DosBox but the performance is awful (I was getting around 10-15 fps at 640x480, not fun). I got it running bet...

Because the Win95 version will run max 640x480. I can run the 3dfx version at any resolution.

Open up Data/Options.txt and set YonFactor to 1.00000 and set Yon to 100.0000 (or higher, higher is further but as distance goes up, framerate will go down.)

With dgvoodoo for windows games (carma2) dont run the server. Just place the dlls and exes in the carmageddon2 directory. Use dgvoodoo setup, select windows and set whatever resolution and such you want. Then run the game choosing 3dfx glide from the menu.

Take a look at the Running C1 using a Glide Wrapper thread at the top of this forum. I even posted a working carmav.exe and instructions on how to get C1 working with a Glide Wrapper in XP.

I use dgVoodoo with no problems. (And it lets me use 1600x1200.)
Look at the "Running C1 using a glide wrapper" thread in this forum. Setup is basically the same but you just need to choose windows rather than DOS and you don't need VDMsound.

Which version did you install?
I'm using 2.0.4 from the link i posted.
I suggest uninstalling it completley through add/remove programs then reinstalling it.
