Re: Any C2 mapmakers still around?
There was a map idea I always wanted to try, basically a swamp with lots and lots of "just deep enough to splash while you drive" water areas, broken up by deeper channels and little islands with trees, bridges and jumps between the solid patches, and a few "swamp redneck shack" ...

Re: Installing maps WITHOUT mapstocklypse?
Awesome, thanks Toshiba! The 8-ball is basically just a nostalgiamobile, but I really liked driving around in the Tanto. Pity the original idea of giving it a sharp-fronted bbox to be able to split cars without needing a convenient map object didn't work out, but it was still just lots of fun, and v...

Re: Installing maps WITHOUT mapstocklypse?
Cool, thanks. About what I expected, but I wanted to make sure there weren't any less-obvious tricks in the waiting before I go muckin' about, especially with how long it's been since I did much of anything but glance at the CD case gathering dust on my shelf. Now if I could just find the cars I mad...

Installing maps WITHOUT mapstocklypse?
The game itself works much better under Wine, but neither Carstocklypse nor Mapstockalypse can load. Managing cars manually is easy - I did it all the time back when C2 was the hot new thing, since I was on a Mac - but I've never messed around with maps much. What do I need to edit to get them all l...

Thanks for the Pool Cue of Wisdom, Toshiba-3! With that straightened out, all I need to do is get it hosted. CoffeyCup has volunteered his Mac Carpocalyse, do you want a copy too for TSS, since my earlier two are there? Hit me with an email if so, classicdrogn at yahoo (dotcom, of course) Anyone els...

<t>I can't get the various modeled bits (two springs, an A-arm, and upper link, a drive shaft, and on the rear ones a brake disc) to move like they're supposed to, as in the visible suspension on the C2 (and even C1, IIRC) Screwie. It may be because I'm using CarEd and it may not like naming a group...

Arr, thanks, C2S! Been a busy few days, so I didn;'t get back to see replies until now. As for PT2, it was long enough ago I tried that I don't remember the errors - so far, I've been able to do everything I wanted to do with CarEd anyway, so I hand't worried about it.

If you put the hinge lines on either side of where the support brace connects, the bubble can open gullwing style. That would be my suggestion, at least. Then again, I liked the car with "rake & peanut steering" that the engineers almost talked Homer into, too.

Perhaps you can quickly tell me how to quickly make a simple model? In CarEd, not PT2. I have the geometry and textures, I just don't know how to actually make it work as a simple model.

<t>Definitely the sort of thing Carmageddon calls out for - but I agree that there should be a hole behind the shield, it's a perfect spot for a guy standing behind the front seats to stand and wave a gun around.
