Well that explains that then. For what it's worth, wayback machine still has partly functional mirrors - even the downloads seem to work!

Re: C1 UI flickers, crashes
Thanks. The v3 is the exact same card I had back in the day and I'm pretty sure I never had this much trouble with it then so I doubt that's the cause. If none of these files fix the issue, maybe I could try reverting to older drivers? EDIT: Thanks again - I tried the 1.2 patch, it did nothing, but ...

C1 UI flickers, crashes
So I finally got an old PC with a 3dfx Voodoo 3 card in it to run C1 with hardware that supports glide natively... ...and the framerate is significantly superior to running the damn thing in dosbox, but I've encountered some major issues; the HUD flickers a ton, to a point where it's almost complete...

Re: The cockpit view mod project
Yeah, I noticed it's the same deal with the Stiffshifter (great job on the interior gfx on that one btw). Sounds like the best solution (until someone comes up with a proper one) would be to do whatever Suppressor does with it's bonnet data, which AFAIK does not warp at all when receiving damage. At...

Wow, I remember the Moppe. Probably one of the first things I ever downloaded for Carma2.
And the imperial speeder, lol - I bet I downloaded every single car on that page back then, just to try them out.

No error message, just a crash to desktop. Same thing with both Knight Riders and Armourgeddon.
I wonder if it could be some kind of a conflict issue.

Where the heck are these stored nowadays? I remember every single one of the tracks had been converted at some point, but I'm so out of the loop that I don't even know where to look. As excited as I am for C:R, I'm a little disappointed that it seems to just be a remake of the original Carmageddon with nothing really all that new added. I'm getting this impression too. So far the maps and the vehicles are mostly just rehashes of C1 ones - while the eyecandy and all the advances...

Now in Carmageddon 2 flavor! Didn't expect I'd get one actually, since it wasn't part of the Reincarnation KS rewards. I'm actually at a bit of a loss with what to do with it. I've basically got myself a spanking clean copy of the game with zero mods - as opposed to the same copy I've probably trans...

Before you jump to the obvious conclusion, let me explain; What I've got is a CD burned way back in 1999 when I was tutoring at this academy joint which had the rarely home-accessible broadband internet at the time, and I downloaded a whole bunch of user-made Carmageddon content while working there ...

Hardcoded? You mean it's not something you can just implement or remove by altering some values in a text file somewhere? That's...actually kind of interesting, if you consider this is Carmageddon 2 we're talking about and Electric Blue was never going to be in the game as far as we know. It certain...

So after downloading Halogaland's build of this car and noticing it's lacking the signature permanent electro-bastard ray, I started wondering has anyone managed to actually figure out how it was done ? If the direct C1-C2 port can do it, then it's certainly possible to do in C2, but I do remember a...

Re: Running C1 using a Glide Wrapper
Update: Finally got the game running on dosbox, with glide emulator - using nGlide. I've still a few problems like the game being really choppy when the CD music is playing, but the biggest headscratcher is that the alpha is a bit dodgy - on some cars, on some maps, I can't see anything from the int...
