The problem is that the skin is already listed in the texturedescriptor. That makes the game treat it as if it's a standard skin and it looks for those files(the tx's and the tga's). However, those files don't exist yet-- the only things in the folder are the two bmp's in the skins folder. I got it ...

They still aren't listed in any of the .txt files, so I would have to assume that part of what the patches did was to tell the program to just check the assets/cars folder and to ignore the car_descriptor.txt file. A few thoughts on this thread: First: TDR damage is less convincing than c2 damage. That's a given. The damaged textures in TDR look like they were sketched in (poorly I might add) with a pencil. They don't look like dents and torn metal; they look like the best that a poorly skilled artist-wannabe ...

Nope, that's not it. I just edited in the appropriate lines for MadCat and when I tried to start the game it showed an error for the Car_Descriptor.txt. When I deleted those lines it ran fine. So obviously that's not it.
