Re: Carma gets Hard boiled
Yep, it's just RedPol. I thought it was going to happen to Prop Car too, but it ran fine. It was silent because I didn't take the extra step to implement its special engine sound, but that was expected and I didn't mind.

Re: Carma gets Hard boiled
It's cool seeing how savy you've gotten with the Carma tools over time, Joker. Prop Car is mega dope. I'm a bit late on this, but wanted to mention that when I try to load your remodeled RedPol, it causes the game to crash on race start. I used to think it was the lack of 64x48x48 files, but some of...

Re: Screen Shots
This thread needs a bump. I just tried '80s Time Warp's vanilla car wheels mod and it's fantastic. Look at how absurdly perfect the Stiffshifter's wheels are on Caddy Fat Cat. images/imgur-bckp/AwhIyqB.jpg images/imgur-bckp/PxYrEgH.jpg images/imgur-bckp/a2jqemM.jpg Why the FUCK couldn't I do this in...

Re: Screen Shots
I really love Utagawamachi. It's one of the more lived-in feeling Carma maps and is surprisingly bright and cheerful. Even the janky, unfinished geometry is charming. It takes me back to exploring every crevice in random Gmod maps. images/imgur-bckp/dGJAHZb.jpg The hit detection gets a bit bothersom...

Re: [CARMA1] The Misty Sedan (AKA The Car Prop From 3DMM)
This is awesome, Zero! Every digital car should be put in Carmageddon at some point and this is a great addition! The grid image gave me a problem, but it was a quick fix.

ah really? hm. meld pack must use that then.. I've been using the latest version of Carma Special Edition, if that helps. Re: Old & New Release: C1 Toy cars
These are all awesome! I'm digging the HW Race Team skin the most. The details in the motorhome cockpit are great. Issue: As far as I can tell there is no grid image for 64x64 mode. I ended up just using another vehicle grid image and everything worked fine, but I really couldn't locate the PIX file.

Love it! The classic redline wheel is a texture I will be using a lot. If you ask me, the Charger is almost a dead ringer for the original '68 Camaro casting HW put out, so I experimented a bit. images/imgur-bckp/Cxx3Poy.jpg Toys! The two Red Asphalt vehicles work fine for me, as well. One oddity I noticed, though, is that the back wheel and front right wheel of the Hooka seem to be powered, but the left front one isn't.

Re: Operation Silent Sedans: A Carma 1 Non-Car Modding Adven
Good call on the shortened names, joker. I should have considered it. Also the menu images and animations look fantastic. So I'm finally coming back to modding to finish the other Silent Hill vehicle, but I have a problem. The hard drive that I downloaded all of the vehicles to crashed a few weeks a...

Re: Straight C2 to C1 converting
I have a quick question on this topic. The poly count for a lot of Carma 2 vehicles is inconsistent. ADR's '53 Hudson Hornet has significantly more detail than his 71' Barracuda, for instance. Some of this detail doesn't translate well to Carma 1. Is there a convenient method for redoing a car's pol...

Re: Operation Silent Sedans: A Carma 1 Non-Car Modding Adven
I'm sorry you're having these problems, Joker. I tried taking everything from my pre-zip archive again and pasting it in-game and it's still functioning perfectly well. Perhaps this is all common knowledge, but I can tell you the kind of thing that gave me these issues during the modding process. Wh...

Oh fuck, you're right. Crediting the original porter of the level didn't cross my damn mind. I apologize. Thanks for the further details, Tosh. :saston: SHOWTIME! :saston: Thanks to everyone for the help. Joker, I ended up using your grid image (very nice!) and credited you in the ReadMe along with Toshiba. I think the Silent Sedan is ready for distribution. Aside from the files for the 32X folder, it should be feature complete. I decided n...

Hate to tell you, Joker, but that site seems awfully...untrustworthy. Re: Operation Silent Sedans: A Carma 1 Non-Car Modding Adven
Thanks for the pep talk, Tosh. I ended up following your tutorial, but straying a tad bit. Every time I try to delete the majority of the model as you did in the video, I get a debug error. I have a hunch that uninstalling and reinstalling Plaything will fix this at least temporarily, but I don't ha...

Hey Tosh, thanks for the tutorial. I'll be reviewing it several times in the next day or so. No problem about the scaling, Tosh. I appreciate everything you've done so far and I needed the exercise in problem solving, anyway. You're probably right, your way would have been easier. Thanks again, QTZ. You're right. I did it your way and it's fine now - no transparent pixels. I apologize for trying to circumvent your suggestion. We'll call it beginner's hubris  . Thanks, QTZ. It's better off than it was, but there are a couple of rough edges. images/imgur-bckp/eqm0ja1.jpg I'm going redo the original image pre-BMP conversion and change the font color. The hair pixels should be easy enough to touch up in Carmagedit. After that, I'll work on rescaling. The bonn...

Re: Operation Silent Sedans: A Carma 1 Non-Car Modding Adven
Ok, new problem. I chose to tackle the anim files first, because they seemed the least complicated. The good news is I've made a passable menu image of proper proportions and am able to to make an FLI file with it using Carmagedit. The problem, however, is the goddamn Carma palette. I have used the ...

Thanks for the tips, Tosh. I'll go back over them in Plaything when I get the chance. Also, thanks a whole hell of a lot for assisting in making these vehicles playable. Operation Silent Sedans: A Carma 1 Non-Car Modding Adventure
I've read and watched all of the tutorials for making Carma 1 vehicles that I know exist, but none cover this specific idea. I'm attempting to make a background vehicle from the Old Silent Hill level into a playable car. The vehicle((s) - if I become productive) are thus: images/imgur-bckp/xEdBn09.j...
