Re: Finally, sorted out the skins

<t>*chuckle* the eyes on the car are really tough to get right because the model isn't mapped very conveniently. I'll have to set to and do a proper line-map for my own use so I can see where the actual edges of everything is in relation to the .bmp file.<br/> <br/> I did try making them look like a...

Finally, sorted out the skins

Right, I've posted a few times about skins and such and tonight I finally organised a few pages where the skins can be downloaded here: http://www.stoneorchid.co.uk/Carmageddon/index.htm If people feel inclined to do so, they're welcome to modify the skins and use them for their own non-profit purpo...

New Skin for Witch Doctor

Just finished a new skin for the Witch Doctor car using a technique I haven't before. I've seen a few people now use photographs of real cars to skin their models, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm still battling to get my head around 3D modelling but I think I need a fair amount of time to sit do...

Update

Now standing me at 7 hours and 35 minutes work (good gods that's a lot of hours!) I've amended some details - cab, nose, paint on the Meddler and the rear arch, roof, rear wheel and bumper spikes on the Eagle - and added rough outlines of interiors (no drivers yet) and am happier with it. In additio...

I spent a few more hours on the sketch to get it moving along. I think I've mostly sorted out the perspective issues and I've come up with a few more things. Re: Carmageddon art, again.

That's mainly the intention, to steal styling queues from various Eagles - the spiked spoiler, the roof blade - and try and make a new Eagle that's different but not unrecognisabley dissimilar. That said, I'm still not happy with it.

Re: Vehicle Suggestions

The Triumph does look rather like it borrowed a few lines from the gargantuan Invicta now you mention it, never noticed that before. Good old golden era American styling, nothing like it will ever be seen again, and in some instances that's a good thing (see: Ford Edsel).

I've got some bits and pieces to fix on it and I'm not sure I like it looking so short and high, but it's a start. Maybe I should make it a 2-door?

I really need to make time for some proper Carmageddon artwork but probably shan't get chance until next year while I work through my orders... in the meantime, here's a ped-stabbing cruiser inspired by the streamlined coachbuilt cars of the 1930s and 1940s, hopefully I'll get an opportunity to draw...
