Re: Help with installing (my)CarEd Car
For this, I have assumed that your car is called 'your_car_name'.
I have also assumed that your root carmageddon directory is called 'carmageddon' - I think the default is 'Carmageddon II Carpocalypse Now' or something equally crap:
1) Copy the your_car_name folder to the carmageddon/data/cars
2) Go to your carmageddon folder
3) If you have a c2c file, copy/paste it and rename it to 'your_car_name.c2c'
4) Open the c2c file in notepad, and you should see something similar to below:
(If you don't have a c2c file, copy the indented text below into notepad, and save it as a c2c file)
I have put the comments in italics.
the bold parts are the sections you should/can edit

Davey Jones // Driver Name
Dave // Short Driver Name
Crusher // Car Name
4 // Strength rating (1-5)
100000 // Cost to buy it
all // Network availability ('eagle', or 'all')
your_car_name.txt // vehicle filename
//vehicle description
Crusher - a little demonstration for TANk, to demonstrate how c2c's work.

Above, the 'vehicle filename' bit is the most important - if you don't get this right, the car won't work...
Also, 'network availability' basically means if the computer can select the car (Or something like that). 'all' is used by default, so I figured you don't need to change this.
Anyway, back on track:
5) Load 'Carstockalypse' (Available from [url=http://thesprayshop.net">TSS[/url]) - and your car should be in the menu on the left... just click out over to the right, and you should be in business
6) Test it
Don't expect your car to work first time though. Things aaaalways go wrong - but we're all here to help :P (Well, most of us)

Oh, the line at the bottom of the indented text
("Crusher - a little demonstration for TANk, to demonstrate how c2c's work.") should be in bold too... That's the car's description, what you see in the 'car select' menu

Re: Help with installing (my)CarEd Car
Run the game in software mode
(Go to your root carma directory, and dbl click the carma2_SW.exe)
This time, when it crashes, it /should/ give an error.

Re: Help with installing (my)CarEd Car
Open your carname.txt file in the carma/data/cars/carname folder and erase everything between this:
START OF FUNK
END OF FUNK
Let it look like that, save and try again...

Re: Help with installing (my)CarEd Car
Just as a side note, too
your carmageddon/data/cars/your_car_name folder should have a folder called 'tiffrgb' in it... Just making sure incase you forgot to copy it across or something

Re: Help with installing (my)CarEd Car
Yup... to put it bluntly
The most common use for anims is to make the brake/reverse lights work. Though you can use them for making images scroll across a surface, and different images appear one after the other one a surface...
Can we get a screenshot of your vehicle?

Re: Help with installing (my)CarEd Car
Yeah, its to make braking lights, but if you altered the textures after the 1st compile, and compiled after redoing the textures the txt file remains, among some more, forgot wich tho..
But forget the funk (or what it said) for now, its just to help you, thats why CarEd made it, it uses the first texture you make most of the times, it can take any texture so watch the next time...wheels with enlarged textures

Re: Help with installing (my)CarEd Car
Damn, you had it in your profile lol...
So, if a car comes driving straight at you the car needs to drive up the ramp of your car and needs to flip right?

Re: Help with installing (my)CarEd Car
Well that would also be cool, but what i was asking about was how i can the wheels on MY car spin and turn when driving.
(the wheels just stand still and face one way like an overgrown garbage can)

Re: Help with installing (my)CarEd Car
Yeah yeah, i missed the question lol
Ok, so if the wheels are just one component, and there are four wheels then do this:
Rename the front right wheel: FRWHEEL
Front left: FLWHEEL
rear right: RRWHEEL
rear left: RLWHEEL
And do not group the wheels at all!! CarEd will do the rest
If the wheels are made out of more components (pieces) te do this:
the components can renamed to whatever thou will, but keep it so you can see whats front left etc.
Group the front right wheel parts into a group called FRWHEEL
do the same with the others, the names are all the same as i described above
and dont make one of those wheels as a master group too
