Well I'm not exactly sure this belongs here but since its not really a mod for C2 I'll shove it here for now...
I'm working on making the C1 cars higher poly for converting in to other games (4x4 evo, and the like) and posibly get a couple of them in to the grandcarma mod but thats up to Harm.
Any way heres whah i have started so far... not much but i think its prety good concidering i concidermy self a novic at 3d modeling still even though ive been at it for a few years..

yes I know its the Eagle MK1 the most over done car ever but hey its a starting point lol.

oh yes i should note that these will have interiors at least some facsimile there of.

You used the C1 model as a base or did you start from scratch? Nice idea to make it available for other games and i can see where you coming from with the idea's for a more of a 3D model then the one from C1.
I guess you also look to Econo's Eagle, right? To get other ideas..

Good Idea indeed, and if you want to port models to gta, you are very welcome to do it yourself as well. Don't let my approval stop you. Or do you mean I might port them? I am not sure I will do a lot of GTA modding to be honest.

about the model. You really need to optimize the mesh around the details, for instance the headlight. I see you rounded of the edges, but since these details are so small and still cost a lot of polygons, you might go for a little less detailed solution. Also, the bodywork is very lowpoly and the rest not, that inconsistancy might play up with lighting and reflection etc. try to keep the polycount nicely distributed along the whole of the model I would say.

TTR: I took the original and am adding to it, and no I didn't really look at econos eagle for ideas although I have it for C2 lol

Harm: I was thinking a couple might make it in to your grandcarma mod, but yea first I would need to learn to port models in to SA, yea i realize now looking at the front mostly at what your talking about with it needing to be more optimized I'll work on that as I go, yes most of the body is low poly that is going to be fixed soon lol cause even to me it looks goofy

Alrighty I haven't done anything with poly count as I'm not entirely sure where to begin but heres how it looks so far,

I've made it a weee bit wider so that it could almost hold two people and i still have more stuff to do to it

Looks nice to be honest, I like those wheels.
Looks like you've lowered it a little too.

yea echono at the moment its the one I'm using I'll soon make my own but yours was a good place holder until i got the car made lol I've had the wheels sitting around on my hard drive for a while now actually... and the blade texture is yours too.. again it was easy to do that for now then make one up on the spot, at the moment I'm working on getting the body a little bit smoother mostly round the wheel arches.
What I have thus far,

@Razor: no I didn't lower it any least I don't think I did not intentinaly, I used the original wheel placement.

I suspected as much, but didn't want to go apeshit on you right off the bat. hehe
placeholders? fair enough... It wasn't so much the idea that you were using them, just that you mentioned nothing about it.

on a totaly unrelated note i was messin about with san andreas seeing how easy it would be to import stuff and did this

EDIT:

Nice, but there's a few problems with the normals there if you see what i mean. Getting it in C2 like that, which generally makes the lightning worse, will make it lot more visible..anyway that's only my negative point here...well that and probably could the poly's from the wheel arches to a rounder wheel arch? They are still like they were hehe.

ok its been a couple days so here we are with

[large]THE HAWK[/large]

alright heres a massive retrofit of the hawk cabin on to the eagle chassis

the reason i did this is because there pretty much the same except for the cabin so hey easy! gonna have some custom wheels for this one though as i don't like the bland "stock" wheels in C1 prolly if nothing els give it the clkgtr wheels from nfs6:hp2

hmm quad post... but a couple days apart

And the thing with the normals.. I just have to detach and fix them, I have no clue how to put these in C2 nor am i going to try, I don't think C2 will even run on my machine, C1 stopped working shortly after a small mother board upgrade so I'm stuck with out carnage.

Not sure 'bout the wheels either. The Hawk's rims are a kind of mark if you see what I mean.
Dunno how to explain that anyway. I don't think they should have these five branches for example, must be kind of plain, black, etc.
Simply because of the rims, when I look at your latest wips, I still see the Eagle.
Anyway we'll see what you come up with.

Normals must be fixed indeed, can change the aspect of your model considerably.
Both C1 and C2 support normals/smoothing groups. Only C2 can compute lighting/shading with them directly though.

I see what you mean with the wheels and I'm not exactly sure how to fix the normals. I haven't done any modeling in 3ds max with these cause i looked at it then quickly became discouraged so i switched to a bit simpler modeler and I don't think I have the ability to crate unique smoothing groups with it other then pulling apart the faces i want in one group having them detatched and just not unify the vertacies. I'm using Zmod 1.07b and its 3ds export isn't exatctly right.

Alright changed the wheels and I'm still not sure what to do with the normals no matter what I do they look wrong so I'll leave it as it is since its going in to NFS6 at the moment and shouldn't look to bad..
