The link isn't broken, the zip is just slightly damaged. Fortunately for you, Jack, it looks like only one file is damaged. That being "silly_dance.SKL"...assuming it actually is different from the original, it's very minor anyway. (simply the animation used for the Groovin' Pedestrians powerup)

I'd suggest just copying the original version of that file...since I'm pretty sure Errol's site is the only place you're going to find that conversion. Other sites had it at some point I'm sure, but I don't think they're around anymore.

I'll stick it up on Wasted! at some point, just in case. I'll do that with some of the Cameron cars too. I'm sure Errol wont mind.

Well, it worked for me, after I added the missing silly_dance2.SKL. Did you follow the instructions in the ReadMe? Rename DATA.TWT?

Image

Actually, I haven't played this mod since it first came out, and even then only a few times.

My school bus has no textures on the wheels or driver. Was that how it was?

Anyway, after downloading the file, I figured I had just about downloaded the entire game.

So I didn't follow Errol's instructions and made a seperate install instead.

I don't know your setup, but for me, I have an "Interplay" folder with a "Carmageddon 2 Carpocalypse Now" inside.

Interplay

+ Carmageddon 2 Carpocalypse Now

I made a new folder inside Interplay (call it whatever...SPgeddon, Cheesypuffs, Kenny):

Interplay

+ Carmageddon 2 Carpocalypse Now

+ SPgeddon

Unzip into the new folder.

Now copy everything from your "Carmageddon 2 Carpocalypse Now" folder EXCEPT the DATA folder into new folder.

That's it.

Start the game from the exe in the new folder, of course

I replaced the silly dance file with Michael Jackson's and it worked like a charm

I guess Errol could make some more cars like Cartman's Mom station wagon but I guess its only a beta

Beta? Its like 9 years old. I think that he is done with it.

Again, look at the timestamps on posts, this board has been around for a very long time.

Timmy, Come on man your the last person to be tell a someone how to post, you've bumped old posts and you always seem to have every one tell you to use correct grammer and to capitalize you posts, go easy on him he's new.

Edit- I've got it working but I had to heavily modifly it to work though, the gibs size is what was keeping it from working for me.

ah well still is a nice novel thing tho, im guessing new maps were not so common back then too? i dont rember...

Well thank you guys for the support :yingyang:

From your posts I understand that you can fix this mod

Maybe you can ask Errol to make his mod more attractive ( you know add some more scenery opponents and such)

I think this mod has great potential as a TC

There were NO maps back then. And I doubt Errol has any desire to revisit this one.

Of course by todays standards its a very simple map, but he did do custom non-cars, peds, cars.

Anyone who has tried their hand at making custom maps knows the amount of time involved to make all these assets for the game.

You sure know much about modding than me so maybe you can tell me is it complicated to add scenery and objects for a map like south park?

I am a newbie in modding but Carma 2 is an old game and maybe I can learn a thing or two

Not that hard at all. Maybe for a N00b it would be.

See Trackin Making Tutorial Importing Objects into your Map section.

If you want to Mod another person's work you need their permission if you want to release to others.

If its just for you, you can do whatever you want, pretty much.

General rules for permissions to release mods of others' works

And try using SEARCH on some of these topics.

Like JC said, it's not difficult once you get used to doing it but it takes a long time, especially on the first few tries, it takes a while to get things right; no reason why anyone shouldn't have a go, though.
