Hi to everyone. i l try to install the add on tracks from carma 1 whit mapstockcylypse to carma 2 bat i cant make it.

i cant see the add on tracks name on the editor :crazy:

i put the Tracks directory to the root folder of carma 2. am i wrong???



Can some one help me please... :help:

Your doing fine, until theres no c2t file with those tracks hehe, so mapstockalypse cant find it! you have to do it manually in races.txt an rename a trackname.txt to whatever track you are installing :smile:

Listen - I've got a similar problem but my C2 doesn't read from decoded track files, all the original maps are written in "@W$,’37\Hmq}pž’Ť‘ƒe/—cv]O~w6e‰‹††W5- }"M@pOH$De#˜wv_Etb85ƒš˜—"

or something like that, I tried the trick from C1 (PROG.act with a text "i am fiddling") but it doesn'twork too:( I'm going mad, cause the carstockalypse also doesn't see the maps, where can I find the *.c2t files for my maps, or how to prepare them manually? or some other way, please help, neeeeeed dyinnnnn' blehskhrkskss......tot

Why do you need c2t files for the original maps?

Either way, you can make your own:

copy/paste an existing c2t and open it in notepad

then open up races.txt from in the /data folder. This holds all the information you need in there.

Copy the track info you want over to the c2t file you have open.

save it, and you've got a c2t file for the track.

wrong - i don't need c2t files for the original maps.

i need them for the maps which i have downloaded (there weren't any c2t files in the zips)

or

some another way to install downloaded maps into C2 - as i wrote, the manual installation in races.txt doesn't make any good - C2 cannot read not-coded files (which are the new tracks)

Ok, just copy a c2t of an existing track and edit it accordingly. You only really need to change the following couple of lines for it to be customised:

PISTE OFF

SKITRACK1.TXT // Text file name

But you might want to edit the number of cars in the race and such

U see? This is coded track and C2 reads it correctly.

but this is a sample of all the tracks form the network, e.g "deathstreet.txt" :

And C2 cannot read those files, as u see above. Looks like it can only read the coded files, as the first sample is.

And finally, when I put the deathstreet.txt instead newcity1.txt (for e.g) into the the races.txt file it cannot load a map, cause it is non-coded version or something.

I don't know how to make the C2 to read the non-coded track *.txt files:(

In C1 it was siply, to enter a cheat or edit a file, but that trick (as I wrote earlier) doesn't work here:(

Do ya know what I mean, finally?

btw. sorry for the trouble, but this is the reason that the board exists;)

OK, nevermind I've done it!!!!!!

hoho bow down, mastah has arrived:)

I had to apply the UK Patch 1.1 (now C2 can read non-coded files) after that switched exe files from that earlier version, cause the 1.1 wasn't made for nt/xp etc.

After that, manually installed a map and wheeeeee it works:)

Sorry for hijacking the topic but I have a similair prob:

Deathstreet works fine but I can't get 'Bleakcity 2' nor 'Off Quay' to work. (by Chevy btw)

When I use mapstockalypse to insert OffQuary I get a CTD when loading the race.

Same goes for Bleak City 2 (manual install), Everything done exactly like the readme says and it to gives me a CTD. Now the readme says when this happens it is because of the high res textures, and that you would need a better system.

Yeah right, 2200 Mhz + a Radeon 7900 128MB + a Gig of RAM not enough?? :crazy:

I run C2 with the latest hardware D3D patch, could that be the problem?

Have you tried running it in Glide w/ a wrapper? I noticed that the D3D mode chokes a lot on big maps no matter how recent your system is. It crashes most times on mine too.

Make sure you have the C2 noCD patch and try to run it w/ the lo-res textures first.

If that doesn't do it...well, you're out of luck!

As for offquay, there's no reason it shouldn't work. All you need is the C1 noncars.

Oh, and do a manual install for that one too.

YES! I got OffQuay to work.

Apearantly I missed the NONCARS objects; '37dc2.TXT' and also '43palm2.TXT'. (I replaced '43palm2' with another tree so that one works now) If someone would post the files here I would be very gratefull.

But what a fantastic track! It brings back some good ol' memories from C1, heck I even remembered most of the hearpins, the open bridge and ofcourse the harbor where I used to race up and down the peer, wasting everyone.

Not to mention it looks awesome now with AA + AF + the Glide Fog.

This baby earns a seccond place, right after Max's Junkyard imho.

However, BleakCity is Still a no-go, It loads and does nothing. I CAN get into the game by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL and ALT-TAB a dozen times, and switch to C2 again. (wich shows as 'not responding')

I can drive but the gamma settings are not functioning anymore, to dark to play in.

not to hijack the post, but i am interested in download new tracks. i have never did this so,

where would i start first? should i get the splat pack first?
