Ow I see you think it looks like a Gallardo ^^, it's a superb start (personnaly I thought it was a stratos XD)
(what do you think about workin' together, I see we are doing the same things, converting C1's cars to C2 so why not? XD)

@Halogaland: I don't think the original Screwie looks like a Gallardo. As I said it's my take on it. As for working together I have to say, No (sorry) And maybe it would have been better to ask me in a PM. I plan on making one more remake after this one, and that will be the Thunder bucket.

Fortunately you told me you will do the thunderbucket because I was on going to do it XD, so, do not, that was just a proposition :)

Okay, it's been a while. Got my computer back on Friday after a serious meltdown which happened about a month ago and i managed to lose just about everything ( and of course I didn't make backups )
I will start again soon (maybe) If I find some motivation

Yeah, I managed to lose just about everything, and yes screwie too! But maybe later I'll have another bash at it, a little tired with the remake thing at the moment.coffeycup wrote:That stinks you lost everything! You lost Screwie too?
Re: The next one 2012
Well, I do hope you try Screwie again, though it's no fun having to redo it. I always wondered why no one had done a remake before, it being such an iconic Carmageddon car.

Okay, let's hope this one makes it! I thought some Japanese muscle would be nice, and this is what I am working on.

I like alot!
The little polys on the arches, are you going to use an alpha map on them to represent bolts holding the arches to the body?

Re: The next one 2012
Another great addon coming here :) I like this car too.
IMO there's really too much polys defined on the top (hood to rear, windows included) considering the shape.
I feel like every 8-triangles quad could become a 2-tris if you get what I mean (looking at the top here).
Rear window is 16 quads atm, could be 4 in my eyes.
Would match the poly distrib on the sides.

Re: The next one 2012
Hi, Tosh! Okay absolutely understand what you are saying, and yes maybe there is an overdose of poly's on the top and here is a pic to show I understood.
The problem is, I am quite far into doing this. But if i decide to do a stock version I will use the lower poly one. as usual thanks for the advice.
And here is how it's coming along.
Since this last message i decided to listen to Tosh and have changed the roof, rear window e.t.c

Re: The next one 2012
Awsome there, thats one of my two.. favroite skyline models of all time,.. the other being..
I hope theres one without shiney stuff tho? I mean as much as I like it they just stand out too much with the other cars, Unless I get a bunch of them? hm,
One small little thing tho The fender cover things, the wheel arches, they look a tad big? I mean im a huge fan of the 73 skyline so i know there smaller?
Also how much do i have to beg for a stock wheels vertion? heh :P
Anyway nice work keep it up,

Hi, @Tosh: Thanks. @ Maxine: There might be one without the shiny stuff and stock wheels, the arches are from this car which as you can see has the over large ones
And here is a view of my one from the back.

Re: The next one 2012
Hi, so here is just a quick update.
And here is a question okay: so I was working on some smashable stuff, Front and rear lights to be precise and I done everything the same as usual, but when I reverse into a wall the game crashes and the same with the front! I can't see any mistakes anywhere and now it is kind of annoying me. So any ideas would be of help thanks. Pip

Re: The next one 2012
did you add the smash material to the car's folder? what is it again by default, smash4.mat or somthing?
otherwise, can you attach your WAM file? I can take a look if you like

Re: The next one 2012
Visually, you are getting better and better but here the physics are weird.
The car is way too powerful, 7 for the acceleration is too high, I don't understand how you set it up: 120 for max speed but super high accel. And I wasn't even at max APO :p
Physics-wise I also think the single BBOX is a bit too complex for this shape of car, and is slightly too big.
Other than that, textures are great, you are getting the hang of it. It was a great move from env mapped materials.
Model is very solid too, has a great integrity, and makes for great damages esp. front.

Hi. Firstly, thanks N3wton and Coffey for hosting. @Tosh: Thanks for comments, but I cannot take responsibility for the physics as a friend of mine helped me with them. I don't know if you know him, but his name is Jack Daniels

Re: The next one 2012
So far so good, no signs of any "JD" mishap
That's a nice rows reduction you got there between the wheel wells and the hood.
Could happen sooner (lower) though
