Carma-Life² Release

Post by Toshiba-3 »

Hello,

Unfortunately no, CL2 isn't multiplayer compliant. Even on local IPX network.
That's an early bug, I hope to get it fixed in the next version (called RAW).

pheiw, hard to say. Ar you using a glide wrapper for the glide executable?

perhaps the tracks have 256x256 textures that only work in glide mode.

yes i was using the glide wrapper.. i think it may have something to do with this inferior mother board i have to use for the time being and it not being able to accept my pcie vid card though... so i will just have to wait and play carma 1 for a while

Tried downloading latest drivers for your vidcard? As stuff that is installed by windows automatically tends to be really "lovely" when it comes to gaming.

Also could you give some info of what kind of hardware you are running?

Seems like with your story the computer indeed doesn't see the card and is running on anything your motherboard has (nothing really).

I think that system would benefit from using an older operating system, something like XP Pro.

CL2 has no software mode!
I'm sorry but I don't support CL2 anymore because it is crap in my eyes :errr:

I'd sugger playing C1 with the Splat Pack until you sort out hardware problems. C2 software is limited at 320*200... C1 hires is 640*480 and is the best IMO (it depends... I know).

Have you tried the normal C2 + the V2 super patch? Maybe it's just CL2 being an ass?!
I can't say wether it'd be Seven or the hardware. Is the XP mode already featured in the evaluation copy? Maybe you could try running C2 with that?

Good luck :granted:

Alas i don't have the splat pack... wish i did but never found it.

Yea the eval. version has all the compat modes and I'm sad to say that CL2 doesn't work with any of them except win 98/me. It was working but with no textures it quit working all t'gether after i reinstalled it in a different directory ah well ill figure it out or just kill it. Now to just find the splat pack..

Maybe you should try the C1/SP Melt that is on Toshiba's server, just ask Toshiba for the URL and I'm sure he'd give it to you.

As I thought. The integrated videocard is killing it. You should really look into buying some older nvidia card. 7600GS shouldn't be expensive and will suit all your needs really.

Are you sure your new mobo will support your old ram and cpu? As you might end up needing to buy a whole new pc to actually use it.

Hi Toshiba! Idk why you abandoned Carma Life, its the best Carma 2 build that I know so far but anyway. I have a problem so if you can help me out I will be appreciated. For some reason I cant add new maps.

I check some blank spot right? And choose the map I want to be there. Thats ok but when I start the game it just crash right after I click Play Carma Life 2. The game not even reach the menu, it just crash. Any ideas?

The addon cars work fine. I added my collection of around 90 vehicles, all of them works fine but these god damn maps :/

Sorry for my english, its not my first language.

Hi Hicks. I stopped working on CL2 because I want to do something better and more in the Carmageddon style (using HL2 design was a mistake in my eyes now).

Actually when Mapstockalypse doesn't show all the tracks, it means it isn't working properly :(
90% of the time it's the same for me. You can either download it again (because I think I modified the one coming with CL2) or do as most of us do: installing them manually. To proceed so, extract the map archive into C2's directory, open the C2C file and DATA\RACES.TXT in notepad, copy the text chunk inside the C2C and replace and existing race chunk in RACES.TXT.

Should work now!

I done it manually and it worked now, thanks ;) Yea the HL2 theme is a bit wierd but I dont mind it. Everytime I mod my C2 I made it to some Mad Max style derby. I choose the cars to be sort of post apoc Mad Max 2 style looking. Im just huge fan of this trilogy. If you think to create somethink new like CL2 you must create it in Mad Max style :P
