What is the chance of my car after hitting a mutilated oponent and then falling upright right on the middle of the personal jet in airport level.

I have to guess it's quite rare eh?

But it happened to me

I was doing some tests using the Drape Tool in SketchUp to lay a road down over a rolling terrain.

Image

Its actually a fun drive. I think I will throw some cactus and telephone poles in and make it a proper map

Not bad, but now try re-creating the road on the slope with the texture coordinates following the path, as well as the underlying slope being leveled so that the road isn't randomly slanted to the sides anywhere on the path... not so easy.

But it's not that easy to do in max either - "shapemerge" could maybe get the above half-done if you had the road already created separately (with the UV-coords in place), but the road would still be slanted exactly like the underlying terrain was.

Anyway, nice screenshots there.

Heh, I do know I can align the road textures, but it is a tedious job and I think I'm too lazy to do it for this test.

Also, I do have control over the how the road 'rolls off' to the sides, I purposely had it do that for this test. It makes for some interesting driving, that's for sure!

:shock:Wow, what's that map? Is it a test? And how do the opponents roll so directly, I mean not stupidly falling from the sides of the road? Is it a start position, no? Curiuos  Where can I get that map?

Its just a test map I made last night because I was bored. Its the opponent paths that keep them on the track.

They will eventually drive off the side, but I put a path on the ground that leads them back to a ramp that goes back up. So, they'll drive around randomly on the ground a bit and then work their way back.

I can zip it up tonight if you want it.

Could you NOT do that again? The transparency didn't work and the PNG is 10x anything else on the page.
