Re: i need help
OK, everybody has that CarEd problem-even me every time I get a new comp.
Go Here and go to the "Carma Stuff" section and get CarEd 1.13 and get the java files here too. They all work instantly together. Make sure you install the Java runtime file (usually the big one) first, and then install the (OpenGL or DirectX Java3D proggy in the \Javasoft\Jre\1.2\bin directory (I think you have to manually change the directory 'cause it wants to put it in \1.2-you have to add \bin to that and then unzip CarEd to the \Javasoft\Jre\1.2\bin directory and create a shortcut to Cared.bat and revel in the 3D glory that is CarEd!
If you have DirectX installed on your system-use the DirectX Java3D prog.
If not, use the OpenGl one..

Re: i need help
Those runtime files on TSS are down for a while. Could someone tell us where to download somewhere else the same runtime files? I would really appraciate that

JRE. I searched the java site for the ones that I needed, it didn't take long.

Re: i need help
Are you saying that there's no cars left in the game, or you're just missing the original cars?
and it only deleted their entries from carma/data/opponents.txt - right?

Re: i need help
My initial reaction would be to remove 'pimp', and then see if you have a file called opponents.old in the data folder... if so, then delete opponents.txt, and rename opponents.old to opponents.txt
Then load carstockalypse, and the cars should be back. (Probably only the original cars, but you /should/ have the c2c's of the downloaded cars to reinstall them all.)

Re: i need help
Good
Now, you have your own car in the correct place, a la' data/cars/carname' right?
for the c2c file, just copy an existing c2c. Rename all the necessary parts - and where it says 'copiedcar.txt' - change it to 'carname.txt'
This is the name of the txt file in your carname directory... (Usually always carname.txt)
Then load up carstockalypse, and whack it across from left to right - then test it in game.

Re: i need help
Just a quick note - in the future, just post your results. You needn't bother telling us that you're going to try what was suggested. We can just assume you did, if you didn't, you can tell us what you did do in the results post.
(Just trying to keep the forums/whatever a bit unclogged and it makes it easier to read through.)

Re: i need help
Aye, looks to be no problem there...
the bit which you have as 'Max' is the short name of the driver...
(the bit that pops up in the hud when it goes ____ wasted)
thus, bobby could go there too.

Re: i need help
it should appear in the bottom of both the left list, and once put into the right list, in the bottom of that one too...
And when you say 'it doesn't work' - do you mean it doesn't work in game?

Re: i need help
the c2c file is in the carma directory right? - and not the carma/data directory
(in the same place as the carstockalypse.exe)
Oh!, and it is labelled .c2c, and not like .c2c.txt

Dude, your c2c file is newcar.c2c.doc
Preferably, you should open/edit the c2c's in notepad

Re: i need help
btw, sweet item dude - it's like a giant cheese on wheels...
not bad for a first attempt.
Looks like you have got more than one poly for the same bit in some places...
or like 4 polies to make a square when you only really need 2... it creates that weird effect where it's trying to blend them together badly or something...
