Re: Show Us Your Ride
And Again I find myself posting this link.
But I suppose there are people new to the scene who haven't yet marvelled at it's glory!
On another related note, I have been informed by my dealer that the wheels you see in the pictures are now worth £450 a piece, that's £1800 just for the rims! I have custom locking wheelnuts though. I had em made so they are a bastard to get off, don't try.
Car itself, is a '95 Volvo 44o hatchback. Currently kicking out around 180bhp, and FWD. It currently sits unmodified, but when I have the spare cash, I'm changing the engine out (Currently a 1.9 TD diesel) for a 2.5 or maybe 3.0 petrol unit from a later model. Which should push bhp skyhigh!

Re: Show Us Your Ride
Then it's a '70 or up.....that's an E-body barracuda on that pic. The '69 was still the old A-body, which was much different(still sorta looked like a fastback valiant somehow).
The E platform was all-new for the '70 model-year and shared w/ the dodge challenger(for which it was developed, actually).
Congrats! That's one hell of a ride.

Re: Show Us Your Ride
there's something strange about the exaust pipes on that beetle. seriously.....just look at them for a min or two.....
Re: Show Us Your Ride
Hello! I agree with Mr. Monkey! Sell the supra and use the money on the Beetle
The tailpipes look like that because they have flared tips, you can get them from alot of parts places. It's a nice looking car, lowered all around and nice paintjob, good work!
So to sum up:
Beetle:
Supra:
Allrighty then!!

Hey PTM- piece 'o' advice on them lockin' lugnuts. Don't waste yer bread on 'em. I mean sure, it'll slow down the average 'crime of opportunity' thief, but just between you an' me an' the buncha peeps on this board, a pony sledgehammer (or a BFR), a breaker bar and a 12-point impact socket just big enough to pound halfway down on that locking lug (or ANY locking lug) and it'll come off easier'n if ya had the key.
Yep, I stole rims once upon a time.
'Fore I had my own ripped off using my own tricks, that is..
Learned the hard way, I did.
Yer better off puttin' an alarm with a shaker switch on it (but don't set it up as a latch switch so the damned alarm goes off for hours and then everybody ignores it-set it up with a 10 second 'on' and then off til the next time the bugger shakes yer car tryin' to get the wheels off. And don't use those goddamned whoopie-tweet-honk alarms either. Get yerself a real motor-driven siren-y'know the ones that look like the big civil defense sirens on toppa the firehouses.
That'll scare the bejesus outta anybody that tries to whack yer wheels with that pony sledge.
It'll also be a sound that most peeps aren't familiar with 'cause it sounds like alla the hounds of hell when it goes off.
