Post by Freddy »

These were done a while ago but never released on here so here they are, if Coffey and whoever is running The Sprayshop these days can host them I would be very gratefull

They include:

Figure of hate reborn - modified C1 track

Cadillac Hearse

Checker Aerobus

Ford Fairmont

All knockoffs, hope the authors don't mind

I dont really like Figure of hate: reborn because it has no map view and no opponent status, an easier thing to do would be just to re-skin the original.

Thats what I was asking Coffey lol if you could put them on your lovely site please  It is just all my other stuff is hosted at The Sprayshop so was asking if whoever is running it to put them on there aswell? to keep all my stuff in one place...Unless you want to host it all on yours? Actually there's enough new SoD stuff now to warrant a big addon pack of some sorts? umm...

That looks pretty good! I like what you did with the Fairmont. Is there an original version of that Caddy hearse somewhere?

The Caddy hearse is a hack job of Slayers '72 Cadillac Deville  so no theres not a 'standard' road version, unless someone wants to make one? Same with the Aerobus, Econo's Checker Cab being the doner vehicle

I thought it would be unrealistic if i had Dave 'Kingy' King in a Volvo and a Datsun, so i changed one to John 'Goldie' Golden. =]

Also, i've edited all of the SOD skins and dirtied them up, it gives it a much better feel :P

Image

I got the idea for the skin from this picture

Image

I have no idea how accurate the skin is because thats the only picture i have of the car

I've also skinned my own car, using the template freddy kindly provided with his Datsun.

Erm, magic? First I had to actually make the custom tire noncar. But that's a whole 'nother story.

If you want to know how to import existing noncar props from the game:

You need the noncar files of the props you want to import.

All the original C2 ones are at Toxic Ragers here:

http://www.toxic-ragers.co.uk/files.php?root=107

(They're broken up by levels; so a palm tree would be in Desert-Noncars.zip for example)

Put a copy of the tiffs for the object (for a palm tree, TIFs for the trunk and leaves) in the maps' TIFFRGB folder

Then in PT2 File >> Import >> BRender ACT file >> navigate to where you unzipped the noncars you downloaded.

Details in the Track Making Tute:

1.4 Importing object to your track in PT2

http://coffey.polygonized.com/TrackMaki ... rting.html

2.13 Noncar objects

http://coffey.polygonized.com/TrackMaki ... ncars.html
