Hello, It's been 4 hours of messing with grooves and I've given up..

Anyway..

I'm working on The Birdy as it wasn't finished by Twiglet & Raven-X.

My problem is the fins on the rear, I want them to do something like this:

Right, the way I've set this up is that I've set up each fin as a steerable wheel.

Here are the parts of the .TXT file that correspond to these fins:

What I want to know is how can I get that left fin (LSIDEFIN) to rotate on the opposite direction?

I thought it would be simple as I've taught myself everything up to this point. :sad:

I've read everything and tried everything but whatever I do; it just doesn't want to rotate in the other direction.

Sounds like you need to do a variation on Tosh's "How-to-get-rocking-grooves-and-such-WITH-AN-ANGLE" tutorial.

This is for a steering wheel, but same idea- different angle

yes, a dummy object, above the right-fin groove, which will rotate the fin in 180 degrees around the z-axis should make the steering flap go the other way. (so the flap should be inside this objects hierarchy) This means you will have to rotate it in the modeling program as well. (so, yes, same as the steering wheel trick)

Thanks, I'm still yet to try this as I lost internet last friday.

And for the days that I haven't had internet I've created 19 cars for C2 :tongue:

I'll release them when I finish the final car, I've created the entire opponent lineup from Destruction Derby RAW.

Most cars are similar shapes, so most were just a quick model change in CarEd.
