CarED trouble

Post by eviladam »

Well me and my father have helped to modify the pc by means of adding two new hardrives, and running them on raid 0 setup, it was pretty much f-disked, so I decided to re-download cared and those java files it needs, the problem is, it just doesnt start, Yes I checked, those java drivers,it just opens up one little window and closes it in a millisecond.

Ok turns out that whats killing me is that that java 3d driver is lacking the "/bin" destination,

The thing is, The damn installer wont let me change the destination! :suicide:

You have to install the jre before the java 3d. The latter automatically installs to the jre destination folder. That might be what you're running into with not being able to change your install destination... With the jre you CAN change the location, but not the java 3d.

It was just a thought. When I installed it last time I remember seeing the dialogue to change the install folder on the jre but when I installed the 3d I remember back clicking just to see if I missed the part that asked for a directory but didn't see one. I hope that helps.

Did you edit the CarEd.bat? all it is is one line -> the path to the /bin dir

mine is this:

c:\progra~1\JavaSoft\JRE\1.2\bin\java -classpath cared.jar CarEd
