can't install new cars, hepl plz

Post by Black Templar »

Hi everyone, im new on this site and also on adding cars to carmageddon 2, here's my problem:

Im triyng to install cars with carstockalypse but every time i open it a error message appears:

"data/opponent.txt contains an invalid path"

carstockalypse opens after all but there is no car in the list (i downloaded 4 on this site) , and i think it's not because of the .c2c files.

I have seen someone who had the same problem and i tried to find it in other threads, ...nothing.(tell me if you see one)

Could anyone Help me with this please? :help:

i have played many hours on all carmagedons and it would be very cool to add on new cars.(especially on the 2nd)

Are you sure you've unpacked Carstockalypse in the root carmageddon dir (ie, /carma2/) and not in the data folder (ie /carma2/data/)?

Yes, it is in the root Carmagedon dir (C:\Program Files\Interplay\Carmageddon 2 Carpocalypse Now)

And i've also unpacked the cars in that dir.

Hm.. So besides the data directory, in the root carmageddon dir, you also have car directories?

Cars should go in the /data/cars/ directory - For example, the 2005 Mustang by AdR and ChevyII should go in the /data/cars/2005Mustang directory - which it will, if you unpack the zip in the root carma dir and keep the directory structure. Get the 2005 mustang here http://tb.polygonized.com/dtd/carma2_cars_adr6.shtml.

i've unpackted the cars in the carma root dir, but there is no car directories in it, they are all in the data/cars/ directory.

Link fixed.

Hm.. and do you have a bunch of .c2c files in your root dir?

If that's not it, I'm lost.

Maybe somebody who has the original opponents.txt still somewhere on his HD might upload it here for this man, so he can try if that works.

Hi Black Templar!

I'd got the same problem like yours. I don't know how the carstockalypse works.

I downloaded that and some new cars.I tried to unzip them (with winzip) and take into the carstock. But it failed. When I tried to use the carstock. in the installed and available cars fields are mixed and some of the cars are missing in the game(the colour eagles). Before that it worked well.

Can you help me to solve this problem and give advices how should I use the carstock. and how to add new cars into the program?

Thanks the help
