I've tried everything to install this C2 map - help!

Post by Gareth »

It's the schwarzwald2 map.

I've even done a fresh install of C2 (a 2nd C2 folder(, done everything step-by-step as it says in the instructions (plus using Mapstockalypse - after clicking on carstockalypse first of course!). When I go on C2, I go on any level and it turns off after the loading screen! So, I have to delete that, and install it again!

what am I doing wrong!? :help:

OK dude. You need to make sure all the correct files are in place. And don't bother with mapstock, hardly any customs endorse it anyway!

You should have a dir named after the track under your data/races dir.

Like this. C:/C2 dir/data/races/Track

Then you need to edit the races.txt found in data dir.

Simle just add the name of the track over an existing one. And don't replace any missions! Only regular races can be replaced.

Any more info just hit me a mail, or PM.

I can replace missions. Overwrite the mission lines with the lines of any regular race, then change the title of the race, the textfile reference, and change "Boundary race" into "1", so that the game knows where that particular race group ends. (Maybe this has been the problem with previous tries?)

kruszchev -> 'dunno' means 'i do not know'. there's no need to write 'dunno know'.

not working still!

Post by Gareth »

When I extract the map as it is, onto the main C2 folder and go on any map (without using mapstock) (on a fresh install), it still crashes!

could there be something wrong with the map itself maybe?

This is the bit I don't understand what it means by in the readme:

"Find the code like you see below in SETTINGS.TXT and change add two (=2) to the number you see there."

--------------------START OF CODE ---------------------------------------

//***************************

// PED GROUPS

//***************************

72 // Number of groups

//(Remember that it starts at 0, so this no. is one more than last group no.)(honest this time ;o)

---------------------- END OF CODE ------------------------------------

I added 2 on to 72 (to 74), but that can't be what it means (and I don't get what it means - or does either)

Oh sorry im stupid. Pic in attatchment.

As you can see it needs a shit load of work.

Can you duplicate the wheels so the polygons are already placed to make the wheel. Coz I iterate -1 on the X scale but it just does the points, and doesn't make the polys.

Also is there a tutorial that is better than Ben Beards one with the release?

needs a shitload of work... nah its almost complete :grin:

you can do this to duplicate the wheels...

position one wheel in the correct place...

export it it...

then choose all the points on the wheel and go to transform, dont change any valuse exept the one named "Yaw (Y)" there it should say 180 instead of 0...

then OK...

and voila its on the other side BUT on the back...

now import the wheel you exported earlier and sience it was positioned the unimported wheel does only need to be matched in Z axis whit the recently imported wheel...

NOW select the newly imported wheel and use the "Yaw (Y)" thing... whit the same value...

and possition it on the back of the car... then import the exported wheel again... and that one should just bee moved backward to the possition where the rear wheel should be... when thats done import the wheel again

hopes that makes help... its hard to explain but its so simple when you done it once

Dementor: You are able to iterate to scale -1 and keep the poly's - exactly the way you suggested...

there are 2 iterate buttons though, one is for points and one is for objects. The bottom one is for points and the top one is for objects (Use the objects one)

and kruszchev - that's a retarded way of doing it :smile:
