Upgraded video card, now C2 won't run

Hi all,

I had a 3dfx Voodoo3 3000 agp and never had a problem running C2, then I upgraded to a GF3 Ti 200 and now it locks up with a black screen when I try to start the game. Does anyone know what I can do to get this game to run? I'm running the latest Directx, and I believe the video drivers are 22.80's. I also have a SB Live X-Gamer 5.1, but I had it before when the game would run so I don't think it's causing any problem. Thanks in advance for any help.

Seems C2 still wants to run in 3dfxGlide, you need to get the box up where you choose which disply option you want, it will say Software, 3dfx and Direct3D. you will have to choose Direct3D.

I've tried that and it still locks up with a black screen when I hit the play button.

Incidentally, how do you get that box up?

Reinstall C2.

No there is another way, I specifically remember reading it when I first installed C2.

to get that box up without reinstalling c2, chuck an -s switch after the executable

Hah! That's what you get for abandoning 3dFX, don't give in, be strong, and thou shalt be rewarded with working c2.

Remove Glide2X.DLL from C:\windows\system or any other occurances of it.
