C2 and Win2k - Possible Quicktime Error? Disabling startup movie?

Post by Credence »

Ive owned carma 2 since its come out and have never had trouble playing it. But recently i installed win2000 because winME was driving me absolutely fucking nuts.

Win2k has been fantastic and i love it. Unfortunately for me today, i found out carma2 has no winNT support (HOW COULD THEY DO THIS?!?!).

Ive gone through several pages of the forums and have done alot of the things you guys have said. (nocd crack, etc.)

the noCD crack works, but i can only play in software mode, and i get a memory address error in Direct3D. Now, as far as i know, it crashes when it tries to load the startup movie, since software mode skips the intro. Im wondering if theres a command line to disable the startup movie?

Ive had trouble getting quicktime to install period so im thinking thats the problem.

I hope any of you here have some idea, or know what the problem is/may be. Any help would be appreciated.

For reference, here are my system specs:

Asus A7V Kt133a rev 1.0.0.5

AMD Athlon Thunderbird 900 overclocked to 1050

SB Live

ATI Radeon 64 MB DDR

24x CDROM

4x4x28 CD-RW

Windows 2000 Server Edition with SP2

any help would be apprecaited, thanks.

hmm, does it give you "sorry, not supported under win NT" error when you try to run in D3D mode?

it did before i applied the nocd crack

now it doesnt give me that error anymore, software mode runs but D3D i get a memory error (which is win2k's version of an illegal operation)
