win 2k and carmageddon prob

i updated to win 2k and a new graphics card, but now C2 wont run, is there a patch or anything to update C2 to win 2k??????????

Have you installed SP2 already? If not, do it! Also, make sure you have current video drivers. If all that doesn't work, a V2 noCD patch should work(I got my original game to work a grand total of 4 times, no more.. )

well i tryed all that, still no luck, i even tryed the win2k compatibilty program, it says will not work on win32's when i try to run carmageddon 2,i have the sp2 patch, i cant find this "v2" patch ive been told to get. v2? is that the file name,like v2.exe? i am really screwed here, i know there are people out there that have win2k and carmageddon 2 installed on there systems that run it fine, i just need to know what they did, i even tried copying the cd to my drive and installing , but it didnt work..i went to microsoft.com and downloaded an application compatibility upgrade(appupd.exe),it says "not a valid win32 archive"....this really sucks a big fat dick,without c2 i have almost no reason to use my cpu, i am addicted to that game majorly , this is like taking a crack addict and taking his stash, tying him up, and throwing him into a locked room.....im going absolutely crazy over this!!!!

Maybe your problem is the your graphic card's drivers, my carma2 works, and my graphics card is the 16mb pci banshee, and there are NO drivers for my card for win2k, so i used the drivers that come with win2k and there are no problems. Could you please tell to us the EXACT error or problem ? You just say that c2 doesn't run, but how ? It crash to desktop ? It gives a message error ? And which graphic card do you have ?

But i am happy because you said that "without c2 i have almost no reason to use my cpu" i really like you said that !

So far you're having the same prob I had, you can forget the application compatibility stuff: it's no use. I don't remember why the game ran a few times(there's some weird stuff in w2k's behavior....), but the thing you need is a noCD patched C2 .exe

I got it to work!!! thanks to everyone who helped me out here, i hope it works more than 4 times though

the error i get when i try to run c2 from the desktop is " sorry , not supported on nt"the win32 message i get when i try to run it through the nt compatibility program , i select the option for win 98 in it,or win 95 but i get the error both times.

Im running a GeForce 2mx 64mb , i got the game to play once after i installed it, but my win 98 drivers for the card were corrupt and it crashed out all the time, so i put my ATI 128 back in , my cpu fried the card(I fried the card accidently),so i was basically screwed, i put the geforce back in , but couldnt do much cause of the crashing ,so i upgraded to win2k, i didnt format or anything though , got the win2k drivers for my card, all runs good exept for carmageddon 2,really sux, the only program on my CPU i give a shit about, has to be the only one that doesnt run.
