I love this list. So many BRILLIANT people in there think they had the BRIGHT idea of combining car with Armageddon... the thought that maybe that is already a registered trademark never even crossed their incredible minds.

Or maybe it did cross their minds, but because they are 60 years old of hunk ignorance, They just assumed that some stupid video game for stupid kids, will not even fart when they go and use it's name for their purpouse... Cause who cares about videgames right? Real people watch football in telly.

If I were to found school of parkour named Assassin's Creed parkour gym... or founded martial arts club called Mortal Combat club I would get sewed up to my eyeballs...

The GTA one is what gets me.

It seems that mod has more fame than the carmageddon games...

Maybe I am just acting like an old git... but no one outside of here seems to know about carmageddon...

But thenagain I was told I like ''grandfather'' games... for loving UT99... seriously UT99 is not even that old ! I dont get how that can count as a grandfather game.

You are completly right ... but this is normal ... why? because there is no carmageddon games beetween 2000-2015, it's an entire generation that never played (or heard) to a carmageddon games. That's why releasing the game on console is a good thing to enlarge the audience. We are old gamers, when Carmageddon comes to PC, video games was considered as toys for children ... console was N64 or playstation1 (and the carmageddon console release were bad games).

Now, we surestimate the real numbers of Carmageddon fans ... in that old time a game that sold more than 200000 copy was a success.

So back in 2016 ... CR release was a flop ... Even if reviews are irrelevant since update2, guys who could be interrested by the game saw bad reviews and video on youtube where a guy that became a 2.0 superstar (social network generation) proclaims that CR is a shit with bad graphics, bad physics and handling).

In 2016, a majority of players are sheep that will buy their annual COD or assassin's creed. It won't cross their mind trying new experiences on testing something unless someone says "hey guys, that's cool, taste it", and DEMO are things of the past. The number of games release is huge and carmageddon was lost in the crowd. We must stop looking at the past and embrace the future ... CMD will come, and maybe will relaunch carmageddon for good.

Yeah , you got into a firetruck and you got points for causing damage , blowing up cars , killing peds and so on.

I used to play that mission (it was a side quest I think) I played it lot sins it was fun and the closest I would get to a carmageddon for a while (until the powerfull nobby put carmageddon onto our phones)

Your right , I dont know were I fit in however. I am only 23 I used to play carmageddon on my PC (still do , of course)

I mean I was the wierd kid who had ''old games'' on his PC and whiles everyone was playing CoD ,I was there with UT99 ,UT2K4 , X² the threat or Elite 3 , Tiefighter and the modern games like HL and so on... but whats intresting is when I was around 16 I was at a boarding school and I was playing X3 I think and some guy was like ''thats lame play something with more guts !'' so I booted up carmageddon : at first the guy was telling me how shit it was... after a few weeks I was giving everyone carmageddon on USB because everyone was blown away by how fun the game was ! everyone loved it. until the teachers found out about it and banned me from using the PC on down time (dangerous game with a ''record'' of breeding killers)... but like tali zorah once said ''totaly worth it''

so it seemed that even in the haute savoie carmageddon had an impact...

So I often feel out of place , being a fan of older games like Carma and elite and hanging out on said forums I wonder how many others are around my age? not that it matters sins I guess from the eyes of the ''2.0'' gen were all old farts sins UT2004 is an ''old'' games...

Don't worry privata, you are not alone. Some guys that have older brothers know old games like Carma.

And don't feel out of place, you have an interrest for old games, it's fine, it will give you a great video games knowledge (culture)...

It's perfectly on topic :p I thought it was a bit funny that the song is called 'Carmageddon' and is part of the soundtrack for Twisted Metal, which often gets compared to carma even if TM came before it :p
