Still on jack stands but the body has been filled in and with that out of the way the bulk of the work is now finished! Time to move onto detailing and interior.

Finished the wheels today, should go nicely with the classic color scheme :)

Edit : Errol requested a shot of the driver next to the car and a transparent version so I'll throw those up here too

Neat, liking the overall lines on this.

The wheels are looking very tidy as-well :)

Thank you Mike! So Max's head is pretty much done and I've moved onto the body and roughing in the clothes. He actually has teeth and a tongue already but its a bit of a pain to open the mouth in zbrush all the time so I will save that for later. I really want to focus more on the bottom half of the silhouette in terms of clothing since that's mostly where all the protective gadgets are.

Thanks! The boots stay, but I've decided to give him some new gear in terms of the gloves and armguards, and 2 of them too :) I'll be adding more assymetry in the textures and maybe more around the belt area to really break up the symmetry and monotony of the armor pieces.

Looks like crossover of Vin Diesel with Jason Statham, not a bad thing though.

Awesome man. This looks epic.

One note though. The texture inside his years looks wrong to me.

I think you might be using the face skin texture for the inside of the ear too.

The ear is supposed to be shinier inside with less skin pores.

Thanks, nope the ear textures are referenced directly from photographs. The pores in the ears are generally a bit bigger than those on the face, depends really.

*pops champagne* My first release!

Download (234mb)
Description and Features

The Red Tech Eagle designed, modeled, textured and set up for Carmageddon Reincarnation by AlexTSK

Features:

- Fully functioning suspension

- Interior for in-car view(one day)

- Custom wheels and tires, 1 default and 2 alernative wheels

- Twin Turbo V8 RT3 Crate Motor and drivetrain

- Fully destructible, damage texture, detachables, jointed parts etc

Known Bugs/Issues for v1.0

- Takes a very long time to load in car select so please be patient

- Damage texture appears in car select, textures are however correctly loaded in game so it's just a minor inconvenience

Planned Features and fixes

- Handling and stats setup is always ongoing and it will be easier to test from it's current state. Right now it's quite fast and slides around corners rather well but there's always room for improvement. It may seem a little overpowered against smaller cars however, but I want to give it a much heavier feel than the current lower tier, papier-mâché cars. During testing I found that the majority of the time it can take at least one or several blows from the squad car before being totaled so if you find it to be 'too stronk' it's intentional.

- Windshield material needs a bit of tweaks

- Red Tech ProtoMech Skin

- Red Tech Carbonizer Skin

- Custom Engine sound (when we finally figure out how to do it)

Would be nice but not currently possible

- Digital mirrors on the interior, though currently there is no material that can render to texture.

- Digital gauge cluster, damage indicator appearing on one of the in-car monitors, possible working engine indicators, etc

Work on the cleaver continues slowly, I'm building a lot more high poly pieces this time around to bake so here you can see quite a few of them.

Latest version, basic interior is also finally complete as well, I spent quite a lot of time getting the fitment of the doors and the door seams correct as well so I'm just about ready to move onto full on detailing the model.

I have already started on that car, but it has turned into a different idea and it wont be another eagle :)

Also after I finish the Cleaver I will be focusing more on my own designs instead of re-imaginings of existing carma cars so I'm quite excited for that!

I know I haven't updated this in quite a while but Christ on a bike 101 thousand views on this thread! I was supposed to do something about that as a little celebration!

I'm thinking of creating a poll to create a car as chosen by the community, good or bad idea?

Please let me know guys, also make sure to specify whether you want a remake of an old car based on its original look or a redesign/reincarnation in my usual style.
