Been meaning to get to this one for a while. It's going to be a more concept art based cleaver with some of my own touches :)

If only Stainless hired you to make their cars. You have the potential to single-handedly push the visual seriousness of this game with your cars.
Your cars are a huge improvement over what Stainless made.
I am pretty sure you could improve every single reincarnation vanilla car by remaking it yourself, if only you had the time and motivation.

That would a pretty awesome job, and the motivation is definitely there, but time is always the issue :)

Well you would also have to be capable of 3d modeling engine code to fix this game at this point...

Moving along, the rear is still a bit lumpy but here's the subd levels so far. I can see the concept art has a bit more of a rounder cockpit so I've gone for it here. All the intakes also point the cleaver to be a rear engined car like the ford GT which obviously isn't the case. The long front however is pretty much wasted space so I'll be going for a front engine design as well.

Finally starting to look like something. Added mock up spikes to the wheels, quite a bit smaller to compensate for the wider car. It should improve general quality of life when driving the car so the spikes don't clip everything in sight..

I'm using the concept art as more of a guide really since there's a lot I like about it, but obviously it's not going to look exactly the same :)CzechDeath wrote:

welll.. ya If you just folowed the concept art exactly youd make a front engined Ford GT, thing is we cant see the rear of the car? so I see ya went more with the orignal CR one? rather than the orignals funky rear lights, or the orignals origanal concept art? :/ man theres so many versions of this car.

And the rear! The subd parts are all done and dusted and I've spend most of the day cleaning and reducing the model starting with the back, keeping it nice and simple. Couple more things to add like the actual tail lights and a number plate but it's shaping up nicely. will be moving onto the front tomorrow and then its onto detailing.

Moving swiftly along, the car is just about ready for detailing, interior, all that. The hard part is over!

Beautiful stuff man. Your car designs speak to me unlike the vanilla ones, which is such a shame.
You will make a living out of this some day, I am sure.
You get what carmageddon car remakes should look like and you give your designs a much more serious and mature tone as well as a shitload of extra details.

Slamming together the suspension for the cleaver today. A blend between some high poly pieces and non subd geo. Going to do a lot more normal map baking this time around.

Round about the same as the Eagle, but it may come down depending on how much detail I can bake using high poly pieces :)'80s Time Warp wrote:Nice work there :) What sort of Tri' count are you aiming for this time round?

Just thought I'd throw this up here for fun. This is what it looks like when I build a car these days, a yard sale...

It's funny because I keep building new ones and the old ones just sit in part packs, but hey this time around I've used stuff I made like 3 years ago so it's all in the name of saving time :)

I love seeing images like that. Man, they're more complex than what I thought.
