Hey guys, long time no see. Well as the title says, any one know how?
I've got the maxpack mod for TDR, and noticed I had all the addon cars in the garage...which I don't really want. I don't want to have them already, i want to work for them through the game heh :D.
So can anyone tell me how to remove them all from the garage? Ive tried looking my self in all the folders and files but cant find anything relating to "garage" information or what ever, Not even for the default Eagle4, nothing gives it away, I assume its possible, it must be. Even if I have to type a new script I don't care, I just want to work for the cars.
Oh yeah and making a new game doesn't work either =\
Can anyone help?
Thank you in advance

TDR 2000 question, how to "remove" cars from garage?
Seriously I really think there's no way to remove these cars !
I would have thought that removing the save files and starting a new game would remove every car from the garage, but I've just tried and indeed the addon cars are directly stored in the garage.
What you could try is :
there's a file named car_descriptor.txt in ASSETS\CARS, it contains cars informations but only for the original ones. Open each add-on car .txt file and copy-paste the needed informations from there into the car_descriptor.txt file with the correct structure just like the normal torus cars. And then use packrat to insert each addon car's .txt file into its PAK file and remove the uncompressed file from the folder... If you see what I mean~
If I hadn't like 3 times more cars installed in TDR than those that come with the MAX pack I would try this but yeah it would take a lot of time...
Anyway that's a good idea for an update to say to Deamon.

Err...lol I think I get what you mean, OK I'll give that a try. BTW which pak file to insert into the addon cars file for example:Acadalyptic.pak? And by remove the uncompressed "file" do you mean the file containing this data:
NAME "Acadalyptic"
DESCRIPTION"Top Speed: 100mph
Kerb weight: 2.2 tons
0-60mph: 4.0 seconds
Saying"
DESCRIPTOR "AcadalypticDescriptor.txt"
DRIVER_NAME "Driver"
^ etc? If so, then ill get on it :)
BTW Is deamon still working on the maxpack? I guess he wouldn't mind making a little patch for it heh.
EDIT
I isnt working, im getting an appl error looking like this when ever I try to add new car data in car_descriptor.txt file:
Application Exception:
Error! Line: 400:
Current Line:
File Data:
CAR
DISPLAY_NAME "Bumble Bee"

DESCRIPTION
"Top Speed: 230mph

Anymore ideas? I think a deff word with deamon would be a good idea =\

Not much people indeed, especially for TDR :uh:
It seems then that nobody knows how to solve your problem.
Deamon had the same idea as me but no clue how to do it right either :

Be healthy, everybody.
I have a question. Is there any way to remove original cars (for example "Rubber Duckie") from garage or replace them?

I think so, If you remove its entry in the Car_Descriptor.txt file and delete its folder in ASSETS\Cars.
And probably the Car_Strings_**.txt files.
