Please help me!

Post by Morbid Angel 66 »

Ok I just bought TDR 2000 but it won't work. When I try to play it gives me this message before the game even starts:

Exception report

Exception at 0x0056ec9e

'Access violation'

Tried to read memory at 0x00000000

Stack trace

PC = 0x0056ec9e <unknown module> - <unknown source file>

Params: 0x00000004 0x0000ffff 0x00000000

I have the US version and am trying to run it on a 2.4 ghz 512mb ram machine using XP proffessional.

I tried to uninstall the program but it says: Process cannot access the file because it is being used by another program.

Please help!

from a little google search of your errors it seems that tdr is trying to use a file that is already being used by something else, so tdr cant use it.

Try shutting everything down that isnt expressly needed by your system(antivirus, steam, etc.) by the processes tab, and try again.

Closing all unneccessary programs will also increase the speed of your game .. If I have too many programs open my game is either slow, or won't run either ..

well .. try the UK version .. or just see what happens when you try zombie .. just experiment around .. oh, and also, in your start menu folder you can edit the game setup and test launch it until works .. and lastly in the original EXE properties people say you might wanna edit compatability.

..when you get it all working I'll be ready to play ya in the refinery

I am don't know too much about stuff like this or XP so I need things broken down into simple steps to be able to follow them well. I tried changing the compatibility in the .exe in the start menu, but that didn't change anything.

I tried changing the version in the option.txt folder but that didn't help either.

I found this though in the Carmageddon TDR2000 folder. I am sure if it is important in any way.

It seems to have the error info in it but I don't understand any of it.

Should I just delete TDR2000 and reinstall it? It still won't let me uninstall the game.

I am never going to buy another PC game again.

what you have there is a debug .. kindof a log of what happened when you last ran the game .. basically.

I'm at a loss, I know as soon as you delete it your fucked. I tried that whole thing and nothing worked. like I said .. you need to go into "TDR2000 Setup" It's a little program .. keep test launching till it's a-okay.. what ya got to lose man
