then bam, nothing, it doesnt even load up. i updated my drivers, updated directx, installed the nosebleed patch and whatnot but none of that worked... ah so very annoying... anyone have any ideas about this?

oh and if youre wonder what gfx card i got, its an ATI Radeon 9800 all-in-wonder 128mb, any help would be appreciated.

*edit* oh yeah i use Windows 2000 (Service pack 3 Build 2195)

Hmm.. had this one a few times myself, first time was when the patch came out. i had to reinstall.

I think when the patch tries to overwrite a file it cant as its write protected, so when the game tries to load its loading an old file.

Try with a cd crack too, might give results.

Reinstall/uninstall the patch repeatedly, or reinstall/uninstall the game.

you would have to replace the certain file manually to be sure that the problem is what DarkAngel says, I dont doubt it, but its proberly easier just to finsh it up manually in a few clicks then trying to uninstall and reinstall which takes too much time anyway. just saying ... :investigate:

yeah, i'll try uninstalling it and reinstalling the game and patch in different combinations ("untill i can find something that works in this dust") and i'll replace the patch files manually to see if that'll work. but not after i get a few hours sleep... oh, and i dont know if its actually that patch that makes it not work because it doesnt with or without it, i mean, i just installed it and tried to run it and got the error so well, who knows... blacksunshine, yeah man, but thems the breaks... anyways off to bed, thanks for the help so far...

options.txt is what you want to edit, GameType can be one of seven possible options, try them all from 0 to 7 .... If the preset is false, the game wont work.

hmm, how do i change compatibility? i right click the tdr2000.exe and go to properties, but there are only 4 tabs (General, Version, Security, and Summery) so i dunno about that... i tried to edit the options.txt too but it was all greek to me so i now just have one big question mark over my head...

would that be the 'options.txt' you referred to earlier? i tried to change the stuff in that, but there wasnt an option for 'game type', i tried changing the 'country', and the 'running_first_time' numbers but neither worked

yeah, this right?

" // 0 = UK, 1= UKZombie, 2 = FRE, 3 = GER, 4 = IT, 5 = SP, 6 = US, 7 = USzombie"

i changed the "RUNNING_FIRST_TIME 0" and tried it with all of thoes and the "COUNTRY 6" but neither worked, unless there is some other one i'm over looking...
