3ds max 4.2
8bit_Mind created 3ds max 4.2 on Sat May 08, 2004 7:16 am
i´m migrating from 3dsmax 5 to 4.2 'cause my computer is so dam slow

i want to know if there´s much diference between these versions....
Tortured-x on Sat May 08, 2004 8:15 am
well firstly if you want to use 3d max to make addons for TDR you'll have to drop to 3.1 because the SDK only works on that platform or lower.

as for the difference's you'd be better off reading it on www.discreet.com
8bit_Mind on Sat May 08, 2004 9:53 am
oh... i see, but do you know here can i find 3.1 ?
Mustang on Sat May 08, 2004 6:10 pm
them file sheering programs like kazza or just PM me because i know some people who know some people who have 3.1 nicely compacted (around about 40-45 mgs)

oh and i like 4.2 better then 3.1 so don't delete 4.2 unless your high strung on space

tut tut all, you'll want to watch for invoking the big padlock of doom, a freedom of conversation isn't something widely held with any such regard

plus you're openly being a thieving bastard

but on the flip side I challenge you to find a legitimate 3dsmax 3.1 licence, I've been looking for a long time...
8bit_Mind on Sun May 09, 2004 7:52 am
i don't want a legite license, i only want to convert my models to tdr.. hehehehe
Tortured-x on Thu May 13, 2004 10:03 am
you could always keep the version you have, and install 3.1 thus allowing yourself to open the file
Beroc-Lord_of_Destruction on Thu May 13, 2004 10:19 am
bout the only way to do that is to convert it to a 3ds file, make sure all your smoothing groups are set before you do that though.

Then break the model up by smoothing groups, weld back whatever you wanted to keep. Once that is done then you can start with the tdr setup. (course, I have scripts to do that part too... )
