Happy Halloween 2016! (eerie silence)
Hello? Anybody there?
I was thinking this place was well decorated for Halloween, but all the dust and cobwebs are just from the lack of activity...
As for me, I have an excuse. Can you guess what I have been doing? My Halloween costume for this year is a hint...

I hesitate between plumber and mechanic? Nice costume as always!
And yes, CWA entered a state where you don't expect a reply anytime soon! It happened before, though this time feels like it will have an impact. No doubt the other Carma.com forum and IRC are stealing the show lately.
I'm planning to change the front page and the design a bit to accomodate the change of pace and maybe bring back some more user activity.

I'd say Mechanic!
Don't worry, we are still here. I check the board every single day still, as I have been doing for the past 10 years.

Yup, mechanic. In fact, I'm going to school!
Even though I'm not active here, I also frequently check on the board. Sometimes I think about getting back to C2. How good is the GOG version and the tools on Windows 10?

I helped produce the GOG version, I can say it's good
There's always the Vanilla C2 pack + nGlide, if you want it mod ready.
Tools work nicely on Win10 in my experience. Once set to run in 16bit color depth mode from within the executable properties, Plaything 2 runs well, textures aren't showing anymore though. CarEd still works too for me (I made an AIO pack (somewhere in here, ctrl+f "cared")). However I think most of us use 3DSMAX with Harm's script nowadays; which is just really powerful for both C1's and C2's everything.
Anyway, coming back to C2 modding sounds good! If you have a little, simple and fun idea, it's a good way to get back into it all. You have to let the advanced details get back to you with a little more time.

You could even take a peak at my C2 BETA Mod, it is pretty much a full C2 release with content from early previews and early builds of C2, a lot of unused, hidden in-dev official stuff in there directly from Stainless, like Tosh's Vanilla Pack is works out-of-the-box too!

Re: Happy Halloween 2016! (eerie silence)
Hi all, Just wanted to explain my reason for my silence. Well the summer holidays arrived and over the summer we done alot of travelling, got back home and struggled to get back in the work routine, then realised that I was not in the mood for modelling so had a break. 2 weeks ago I thought "oh shit" I should release the rest of those escorts that i had made so i clicked on Plaything to tidy eveything up this message came up"this program runs on 16bit blah blah crap" .But hang on I was using it on compatibility mode and had no problems it was working like a dream and hardly ever crashed but now i have tried everything and still nothing I am using windows 8.1, So I am a lost sheep. Any ideas anyone? Well any ideas that does not envolve spending money?
Best.
Pip

Oh hey Pip
That PT2 error is really strange, especially under Win8.1. It still runs smoothly in Win10 here. What's circled in red is the only needed option to be enabled via the compatibility settings:
But I suppose you got that set already then I have no idea besides running PT2 + Carma2 in a virtual machine..! Or relying on another member to do the PT2 touches.

Thanks Tosh , I might have to go down the reinstall Windows crap road and see if that changes anything, if not; who is going to volunteer to finish some stuff off for me

I don't have much free time lately and thus I just help friends with their projects, so feel free to reach out to me with files and a todo list if the Windows reinstallation doesn't fix your issue

I downloaded Vanilla and hope to create more as I have plenty of ideas I'd like to get out of my head, but school takes priority currently. :/
I remember someone making that Dragon truck I drew years ago. I wonder what happened to it?

That was 7 years ago, TTR was the one making it. I guess he kinda stopped his C2 projects for C1 ones and then he moved on from modding altogether. I still have the 3DSMAX scene!

Thanks, Tosh! That sure is nifty to see. I'll let you know when I get back to modeling and modding, maybe I could finish it.
