Killer 11, thanks! Yep, I heard this babe was produced only in 27 pieces, including prototypes, and bodystyle... Yeah, Virgil Exner did great job - kinda classic luxury 30's design with some improvements... IMO the best of the revived classics of 60's-80's.
TTR, ya' right again, dude. I suppose that after finishing the bodyshape, it can be simplified a bit... Doors, fenders... Also, what is the redline polycount for C2? So I'll know how much details I can do.

Humm..lol Tosh even got a 300.000 poly car ingame, but the best would be around 5000 and under 10.000.

300 K?! Holy... Well, I didn't even imagine that C2 engine can handle such number of polys in one car... As for the 5-10K - thanks, that's what I like and wants something in these lemits in the final model.
P.S. Started to move polys in X-dimension, so maybe in the evening I'll show some progress. Only problem is that I never messed with photos for the car model, so maybe some dimensions of the car will be little wrong.

Hehe, looks like I got same business, man  .

Update:
Well, for this stage, here's only lower body remains to be placed and curved correctly:

Looks like everything goes well, just a little wrong placement of the back window - but in the empty bodyshape that will not be a big problem.

Today's progress:

- nose almost done (except radiator), lower body corrected, some polys remade because of bad triangulation here and there.

Total 3108 polys as shown, so I think here's nothing to worry about.

Well, here's small update... The body almost finished - maybe it took too long time, but I had some reasons... Anyway, here's screens:

6678 polys so far, so looks like I still can make under-10K-model, hehe

Wheels are fictional, not the original Firestone LXX ones... Maybe I'll do it later, but IMO these ones looks great too

Hope ya'll like my little work :uho:

Thanks, good to see positive feedbacks)
TTR, the program is ZModeler 1.07b - old and free convert-program, but it can be also useful in modelling too, maybe not so useful as some commercial programs, but I used to it
P.S. Looks like the hardest work is done, but I still dunno when I'll be able to finish this baby - because of studying. Anyway, look for updates. And yeah, I'll post it for C2-convert - if ya' wish of course.

Hello,

Nice work here sir R66C! You're improving indeed even though you're using a buidling method that is totaly different from ours (TTR and me at least).
I still think it is hipoly for what it is meant for, but I guess optimisation will come with the time.
Keep it up.

Sure it could end up in C2~

Well... Some progress. Body is finished at least. Photo-textures, simple door handles, tubes, some geometry corrected too... 6 random original colors included, + the base for new skins.

Thanks, Tosh! Yeah, I still got many things to learn in modelling, sure I'll try to think about optimisation in next models too - I've just tried to learn photo-modelling in this one (Well, I'm still like the car, too). As for modelling method - almost the same, as on the Courcheval Manta (very clearly on the first screens), but with some improvements, of course.
Also I'm sure that if you guys like Exners cars as much as me at this time, you can visit this site, kinda fan-club of Stutzes, but not only them. Very good source for modelers as well as usual car fans too: http://www.madle.org/estutz.htm

... Here's about 90% of stuff is done. Only seats, dash, steerwheel and small pieces here and there isn't done yet. Look at interior - red velvet, red leather, chrome, wood  ... And even red body here (1972 paintjob BTW):
It's gonna be slightly over 10K, looks like I screwed my low-poly plans up

Hi again everybody. I wasn't here for long time, the main reason was the death of one of my old friends as well as good Mafia modders too, so the project was closed for long time. But now the rest of the team decided to get it back online. Then me and Harm here decided to exchange our links, and now I'm post here a link to a new (well, a DM-project themed one) site. Now it's in testing stage, I'm planning to finish the works in the beginning of January, 2009.
Here's the link: http://www.desert-cafe.3dn.ru/ . Any questions, suggestions, an so on - post in this topic or in my site.

Finished at least.
500-in. V8 engine. I take it from the Slayer's Deville. This engine was the biggest in whole Stutz-revival cars:

More detailed (than on my previous works) interior:

Simple trunk:

And sideview - I used Dunlop sport wheels texture from GT Legends:

Thanks, guys! Yeah, I learned some tricks:) Well, some update on Custom 500:
http://img534.imageshack.us/i/custom500grey3.jpg/
I optimised the whole mesh as far as I can, so only 8k polys right now, kinda low for this modeling type.
@Tosh: And thanks agains for teh meshes conversion - nice to have 'em all in a row. I'm still plannin' to make more remakes out of C2 stockers and some of Slayer's classics.

And here's some news again. Finally, the guy from Germany, ASM finished the MWE, that allows to make per-triangle-collisions without any problems in very short time. So, the project seems to be going well, and here's some very small teaser, that we had made some time ago:

Hope ya' like it :)
