That's actually a mashup Kavera prepared 2 years ago and handed to me to finish.
Here's the actual thread at CWA : http://www.cwaboard.com/ubbthreads/show ... b=&o=&vc=1
I'll probably call it the CWA Monster or similar.
So far I spent two days cleaning and optimizing the model, turning it to poly mode with correct quads in MAX.
I'm starting the skinning phase. Using Painkiller's texture as base once again... Rust, Blood and Sand, it's going to blow everything apart.

ah cool. I didn't know about that thread.
I didn't realize the rear had tank tread. I noticed the the back wheels didn't look round, but I figured it was the wide-angle lens distorting it.
With the hi-rez texture it should be awesome.

It is the Steel gonad o'death cheat :uh:
Here's that good ol' thread at CWA : link.
The tool to achieve that kinda got lost in time, fortunately Cesm reminded me it existed and as it's rather tricky to use, I used it to modify the executable of Carma-Life 2, this way it will be already there in the next version.
The cheat will only work with cars having a CARSHELL.DAT and a simple model (just create these if you really want to use it on a special car).

low poly but really good lookin' !!!
:nice:
You really show us that the number of polys doesn't make the greatest models at every time !
(gosh I don't know if the traduction is good)
(here in french : "ce ne sont pas toujours les modèles dont le nombre de polygones est le plus élevé qui sont les plus beaux")

You really show us that an high polycount for a model is a great model; low poly models can look as good.
So a 20.000 poly model with 3d treads on tires etc can look crap? why yes.

Hey! Morbid Angel ! You're still alive !?
I had sent you a mail last month to have some news from you, but didn't got any reply :uh:
I suspected my antispam to have get rid of your answer or such (happens often). Anyway, etc.~
So yes it is a good exercise at very lowpolyness. But also at lowres textures ! Most textures are 64*64 ! Some 32*, and just 2 or 3 with 128*, nothing higher ; so far there's only 27 of them (and texturing is almost done).

Hi hi !
Yes I'm still alive ...
Not very present, sorry. I would like to post more, but life doesnt always let us do what we want ...
(in fact my wife is ill and I've got to take care of her)
I would like to create some new cars but I do not have time ...
too bad.
Anyway, as you can see I'm still present and I come as often as possible on forums because Carmageddon 2 is still my favourite game !
:uho:
