I've downloaded it and found what appears to be a crack for it but I can't fingure how to use it, it's not your standard 'copy this into that folder and go' type thing and when I tried translating the Russian readme for it, it looked like something Yoda had written so I was still non the wiser

When I got to the point where the game checks weather the disk is genuine or not, my computer blue screened on me and restarted.

I've uninstalled it since.

Copy protection software, but the worst kind there is. Not in protecting but actually in mangling pc's.

Oh i did also get BSOD's but the Starforce thing told me i would get it running (tools like Daemon).

You will ONLY get BSOD's with Starforce running, nothing else here, as it is made to protect it from beeing illegal copied ofcourse..but with that fix in this thread it should not be running it all and it's ok..besides this BSOD..i don't think it does damage~~

Well it's got to be something serious if it causes a BSOD.

And how does it help against copying if you can get past it anyway, it's all just malware really..

Right, i've got the new pc, it display's 3.50gb of ram but i couldn't care less about that, i'm pissed abotu what they've done to the inside of the case, each component they've glued in to stop me adding and removing hardware, everything! including ram and graphics card, everything, every single plug, is glued in. Litterally, it's an awful sight!

oh and it's x32 bit with SP3

What is the point in buying a PC, if you can't make it your own, really every piece of hardware is glued into place and i'm unable to add an extra hard drive because all of the ports for the hard drives are all covered in glue.

I'm having to copy everything off my old pc (235gb's of stuff) over to my new pc, via a 4gb usb drive, gonna take forever! <_<

I'm up to my c2 folder at the moment, it's 2gb's, so gonna take a while to copy.

I got BSOD when starforce checks the CD and find thats an emulated one.

BUT: When I installed the anti starforce drivers, there is no more problems, it checks the CD, found it legit, and launch the game.

Got the game yesterday, played it around 6 hours or so and finished most of it. I decided to give you my first impresions about the game.

-No multiplayer. It's solo, and thats a little dissappointing.

- It's not enough. Even after you open the 2 extra zones, the city is way too small. You only get 10 vehicles. All the cars (exept the Dozer) have around 5 skins, but only 3 cars can be customised with bumpers and sideblades. The games almost feels like a demo. It all gets boring after some time. I feel like I know every street, seen every zombie and done everything worth doing. If you compare it to most games out there, it just feels like less content.

+ The story seems interesting, though my russian is not good enough to get all the little details. On the other hand, it's all just text (no movies, no cut-scenes, not even a narrator voice.) Still, it's not supposed to be Myst, so I guess it works fine.

~ Zombies lack danger. You can park your car and watch a zombie slowly moving towards you, only to get sucked in the shredder in front of your hood. You can hit a zombie with 1 MPH and it would just drop and die on your hood. On the other hand they give a very different feeling to the game and add flavour. Also, every now and then there is a zombie that might surprise you with a flamethrower or a jacket full of explosives.

+ The gadgets. There are only 6 or 7 of them and they are for 3 cars, but most of them are way fun. There is a bumper that shreds zombies, blades that come from the side of your car, a couple of lightsabres, and even a flamethrower. Lots of nitro boosters too. Also, most skins are cool, even if getting them is a pain in the rear. Another cool thing is the way your car gets smashed, trashed and covered in zombie blood after a some action.

+With enough determination you can get the Strawberry (A ferrari-like sportscar), a yellow skin and the Karma bumper that makes it look alot like the Hawk from Carmageddon.

+The game is beautyfull. Everything in the city is realistic and has sence.

-Some of the effects are a little two strong - the pick-ups are giant energy balls, the races are huge light pillars, and in bright rainbow colours. It's not like I'm blind, I can still see them without being the size of a garbage truck.

+The Music feels right. Its something that reminds you of Resident Evil or zombie movies. It's a little spooky, a little fast and really fun to listen to. Also you can add your own songs to the playlist.

~ Maybe it's all those games and movies where a lone survivor fights hordes of undead, but every now and then I wanted to get out of my car and fight zombies, old school style (baseball bats, guns). Or maybe all that GTA and Resident Evil has spoiled me.

The game is greatly done, and really fun, but is just short and lacking more content. It's like a delicious candy - it tastes great, but once you finish it, you are still hungry.

So it's Left 4 Dead but with cars.

I hope it isn't as linear and boring as L4D though.

A bit pissed about another Carmageddon game without real (or any) multiplayer, I am calling it another Carma game because let's face it, we wont be getting another from Stainless any time soon, so this is the closest we'll get for a while.

I haven't downloaded the Russian versions I've posted but I'll be getting it when it comes out over here.
