Re: Favorite car category
Heres my top favorites:
-Muscle cars(good old 60s/70s ones)
-small 4x4s(jeeps, Scouts and the like)
-Pickup trucks!
I'm also very interested in many other off-road/all-wheel drive vehicles, such as Blazers, AMC Eagles, and the Dodge Ram T-Rex.
However, I have a very wide variety of vehicles that I like.

Re: Favorite car category
Muscle cars get my vote. Although I also quite like Merc's (old ones) and Opel's.
But due to the price and running costs of muscle cars, I'm confined to driving a small Nissan (although come to think of it, it too isn't cheap to run either).
I grew up in the wrong era.

For that matter, the caddy's with the 500? Who wants to take one of them 500's and stick em in a smaller car?
Id say muscle also. I just have not found a muscle car i dont like. All the other classes have cars that aint so good, but all the muscle cars are to my liking.

Re: Favorite car category
Those engines only had a power output of less than 200bhp, which is fairly crappy given the engine size.

Each to their own.

As for what makes us like the car, again, each has their own view on this. I always liked muscle cars becasue of their aggresive looks and of course, the V8.
In saying that, I'm a fan of Q-cars (sleepers). Some would be the likes of the VW Passat W8, Mercedes 450SEL 6.9, BMW 550i, and for the lower end of the scale, the Opel Omega V6. Wolf in a sheeps clothing.
P.S. The owner of that blue Volvo above should be hung.

Ah sleepers, I quite enjoy!
The Ford Fairlane (yeah, Im a Ford person) 427 is more or less my favourite.
Like this one, except with either white or black steelies. Yums!
And the 1984 and 1986 Crown Victoria LTD's with the 351's. For joy!
Like the one in the pic but with black steelies, tasty!

Re: Favorite car category
^ Nice. I forgot to add the Mercury Marauder to the sleeper list. It's a shame that they didn't sell them on this side of the Atlantic (not like I could aford it anyway!), as well as the fact they don't have a manual transmission option either.
I don't mean to go off topic, but I've been reading about the Ford Econoline van, and what caught my interest was the 6.8 litre V10 engine (310bhp! ) Slight overkill maybe, but that must be faster than many sports cars out there.

Not really, I mean... it's wonderful and all, but it's geared for hauling.
Mike's fathers work loaned him one to move some stuff, we tried to brake-stand it, but it was more or less brand new and the brakes wouldent allow it. It'll pull some allright doughnuts though...
And yeah, thats what I love about Ford... the overkill factor. Remember that "Ford 427" concept?
It had a 7.0L 427 in it. It's a freaking family sedan.
Not to mention anything 80's and Ford could swap parts (much like Chevy, go american cars) so you could drop a 351ci Police Special motor into your workvan, or a 460 into your pickup...
Anyways, the reason I love Crown Victorias is the 302/351 engines, both are obviously Mustang engines as well, and as such the same mods can be used.. or you can just grab a 302 H.O if you feel like playing but don't want a 351 for some reason. Ive been looking for an Ex-CopCar mid 80's LTD, they're a little harder to find but the upgraded chassi and suspension is worth it, for how I plan to drive it ... anyways, yeah big bastard cars,

Re: Favorite car category
There was a 4 litre (or something) V8 version of that red Volvo Amazon alltough i dont know if its was originally V8, and a Volvo 264 had just a V6 in it though..
But to answer the question, I like allmost everything thats RWD and with a stick

Re: Favorite car category
I like large sedans. I would love a Caprice 9C1 or a CVPI. But for a luxury ride, I'd go with a Mercury Grand Marquis. I like big boats and I cannot lie; you other bothers can't deny.
Re: Favorite car category
this brother's not denying a love of big boats,
my 77ltd wagon won't deny it either
I like the station wagons/sedan deliveries
I also love the little stuff, I had a Porsche (vw) 914 with the mighty 95bhp 2.0
I have a friend with a 70 spitfire. I can barely fit in the damn thing and love it.
I would love a subie 360 or Fiat 500, but on this side of the pond they run $3000 for a non running hooptie. original mini's kick arse also.
I also love trucks. A red mid 70's f-150 4x4 on 38's with the short stepside, a 62 chevy c-10 fleetside slammed to the ground with a 454 hi-rise and dual quads, A hooptie 95 f-250 powerstroke with the bed practically detroyed by use and rust around the wheel wells. the proverbial work truck.
I also love the full size vans the econolines, and the 70's dodges and chevys.
now we get to muscle cars. particularly the shelby cobra with the 289. I know everyone loves the 427, but it made the car too nose heavy. it couldn't be beat in a straight line, but the 289 would beat it in the twisties
now I'll send the shout out to the few peculiarities...
50's vw bus
70's vw thing
54 merc bz 300sl
37 cord 812
74 porsche 914 2.0
76 cadillac eldorado convertible
67 shelby cobra 427 s/c (i know what i said about the 289, but c'mon [font color="yellow">427</font color>)
64 lincoln continental convertible
oh, and the Deathmobile from animal house
alright, i think that is enough

If it runs, drives, stops, has a title, AND is under $300, I'll take it!
