60's, muscle car era.
Anything 90's onward is crap, cars have too much technology, and they all look and drive the same.

in fact i mliteraly in love with 73 85 generation
Re: favourite car decade.
I seem to be in the minority again, but I voted 2000+, though, technically, post 1990 cars would be my choice.
I'm a firm believer in technology, and I believe that ultimately, (most of) it is there to help us. Yeah, loads of stuff crammed in the car means that there's loads that can go wrong, but that's only if you buy from a manufacturer with history of bad cars. Case in point - Alfa 156. Gorgeous, but not a card I'd buy - stuff breaks down constantly.
The Japanese and ze Germans get stuff right though, and their products have very few niggles. And I really, truly, honestly believe that stuff like ABS, Traction Control, Stability Protection & the likes, although interfere with the driving experience to an extent, save lives.
An example of an absolutely great new car, crammed with technology is the Golf GTI, or the twincharged Golf GT. Yeah, there are a few niggles here and there, but it's nothing that will ruin the experience (actually, the most commonly reported problem of the Golf GTI is squeaking in the steering column, which is caused by forgetting to remove the rubber column suspenders when the car is delivered, so human error).

Re: favourite car decade.
I'm not sure, I like some or more from each decade, with the exeption being pre-1900. However, I went with the 1950s, as I like a good number from then. Next in line is the 1970s, then the 1940s.
Re: favourite car decade.
The 50's(on US cars anyways)! Tail fins, panoramic windows, multitudes of bewildering options, bumpers that weighed about as much as one of my Volkswagens, etc!
ahhh (I had one of these cars )nice..

Wow, it's so hard to choose. I primarily love '80s cars though. Don't care much about the reliability, but I do like the styling. It may be bland, but it's so interesting to me.

Re: favourite car decade.
i prefer simplicity and reliabilitlty. I don't think i could really choose a decade, but if i had to, i'd go with the 1950's because that's when people like harely earl and the like at GM didn't design cars, they sculpted rolling art. Some of the best automotoive design came from the 1950's.
Anything with as little technology as possible is my vote tho. No power anything in my car, and wouldn't have it any other way. the only extra thing i have is heat. The rest is bare bones and just enough to make it all legal. Besides, paralel parking with the 33x11.50's with no powersteering has done my arms good i think. I'm quite alright with a manual choke too.
Gotta love those inline 6's, great mileage with mine.

Re: favourite car decade.
All 60s cars are cool (apart from the renaults)
1968.. to be exact.. when my car was made.. Yes.. i actuly drive a decent car now.. not my moms crappy wagon, not the truck that runs on 4 and a half cylinders. A decent good car
decent and good ofcores mean cool, good running, but coverd in filler, rust, and chuncks of somthing of unknown origen that are stuck under the arch...
2nd coolest is the 50s tiem of the cadilacs and cryslers ever.

Early 90's/Late 80's.
I am grown up with those cars. Especially with the European shitboxes. Peugeot 205's, BMW 316's, VW Golf 2's, Ford Sierra, Volvo's, etc.
And yeah, I am a big Ferrari fan, and for that it has to be the same era. I basically dig everything from the F40 (1987) to the F50 and the 550 Maranello (1997).

Re: favourite car decade.
Man, I loved the Sierra, learned to drive in my parent's one (it was a diesel), it was smokey, slow, paint work was wrecked, but was incredibly reliable. In the eight years we had it, all that went wrong was a snapped cluth cable and faulty injectors. They looked good as well (Sorry for the rant! )

As for Ferrari's, never a big fan, always thought they all looked the same.

Yup, old Ferrari! (I never said I dislike old Ferrari's :P)
"As for Ferrari's, never a big fan, always thought they all looked the same" That might be, but they all look great!
Sierra's rock. Especially the old V6 version. My uncle used to have one of those for year years as well. Much better, considering it's technology disadvantage, than a Mondeo.

The 60's seems to be the winner. Of course, modern cars are plain boring, they all look the same
I'd rather die into a 1969 Dodge Charger than live with a brand new VW GOLF

@ Mad_Maxine: The Ford Sierra is the one I was talking about. (Specifically the sedan version).
@ TTR: You better be!
@ AdR: Yeah, the brand new Golf is ugly! Oh, and what do you mean by modern cars? 2000's? Or everything from the 70's and later?
I don't know much about 60's cars. I have to think for a while when I saw a 60's car for the last time (if I have ever seen any of them).
Have a nice day!

The Ford Sierra was named as the Merkur XR4Ti or something in the States, if I'm not mistaken.

Re: favourite car decade.
@nwo4life: yep was talking about late 90's - today's cars. Specially post-2000 european cars, they seem to be a clone of each other (take the Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa, Renault Clio, for example), there's nothing special about them, just plain boring cars. I don't consider them "cars", just some mundane object you buy, like a coffee machine, when it breaks, you throw it away and replace it
@Mad Maxine: Ford Sierra's been different everywhere, here's the version that came to my country, wich I think is the same as the US called Merkur XR4:

The Merkur was the Sierra Mk1 , but they never brought in the Mk2 into North America.

The 60's, That was a time when we actually got imports that were 4 cylinders! Nowadays most of our imports are V8's or 6 cylinders. I swear back then we actually got cool cars but now because of the dumb and pointless safety thing we get in stuff thats identical to the crap America makes. I haven't seen a new RR car at all in my current life time.
Speed can come in a little packages too!
