finally got the scanner working.(see my lil art)

Post by bruner_james »

Yeah I have had a scanner given to me 5 years ago, and at the time when I installed it i never got it working. (I was 11 at the time not knowing much on the hardware side of things), But after having it sit on and off my desk for the last couple years, I have decided to get it working again, so after 3 or so hours tinkering away, I have fixed it and gotten my first scan into my computer. (sure beats using the webcam to take pictures of paper)

So yeah, heres a lil sketch I did at school today. we were talking about the great depression, 1930s so I just started sketching away after seening someone like it on the movie we were watching.

Here it is

Her face is a bit monged up - chunky jaw and all that

And her shoulders are totally manly

But it's neat! Nice one on getting your scanner working

Do whatever you want but for the love of god stay away from anime! The younger generation is being ruined by lazy japs with no taste. And it's not even japanese anymore that's influencing "art". It's the even lazier American pseudo-anime knockoffs that somehow made things worse than they were 10 years ago. I'm a professional illustrator and know what I'm talking about.

This thread really makes me want to scan in my work. Actual paintings. Not stuff drawn in Photoshop. You guys would dig it. I do have lots and lots of slides but that does no good here.

And Toshiba, your stuff is awesome.

I couldn't possibly agree with you more. I hate those who are obsessed with anime (which is now composed entirely of cat-girls and robots)

There's no 'gray area' for anime. Either you don't watch it, or you're absolutely obsessed with it.

And the people in it are so anatomically incorrect that it's disturbing.... they're either seven feet tall with five foot legs, or two feet tall with no legs.
